I used two of these: https://www.decware.com/newsite/diy/decware/ZKIT4.html The unit is driven directly from the DAC chips in a Schiit Gungnir; balanced in/balanced out. It uses two tube regulated power supplies listed in the link. Power supply.- funch

Decware SE25 clone headphone amp
The amp is a clone of this: https://www.decwareproducts.com/se84ufo25 I used headphone output transformers from Transcendar, added a choke (behind the power tranny) to deal with hum. This is endgame for me, after many many builds.- funch

Decware SE84 clone/headphone amp
It's been a loooooong time since I posted anything here, since DIY has more or less gone by the wayside. Hope you all enjoy this. This is an exact copy of the Decware SE84 circuit but uses Transcendar headphone output transformers. It also has what Decware calls anniversary mod's which consist...- funch

Album comparing tape to digital versions
I ran across an album with twelve songs; the first six are original tape versions, the last six are digital master versions of the first six. The album is by Charly Antolini, it's called 'Super Knock Out (Double Version)'. I found it on Spotify, but I'm sure it's on others. -
Solution to distortion problem: water!
As I get older (just turned 67), weird things start happening, like hair growing in inconvenient places, losing some high frequency hearing, forgetting why I went from one room to another, or what I did yesterday, looking for my glasses whilst wearing them, yadda yadda. For quite a while now, I...- funch

Cheap laptop for music server
I have decided to get a small, cheap laptop to use exclusively for music. My LG tablet will run Spotify to my Yggy via USB, but I need a Windows (or Mac) system for the driver for my M2Tech HiFace Evo, so I can run AES. I'm currently using a Dell laptop, but want a dedicated music computer. Any...- funch

Windows 10 trouble
I am hoping that someone here more computer literate can help. I tried my best over the last several months to avoid Windows 10, but the rat %#%^&$#s at Microsoft initiated the download for me. I knew these punks were up to no good, and my experience today proves it. It downloaded OK; slow...- funch

Head-Fi account hacked?
This is weird. When I logged into Head-Fi through Google Chrome, I found that all of my ad's had been bumped. I didn't bump them. When I logged in on my MSN Premium account, they hadn't been bumped. I went ahead and bumped them. Does anyone have an idea what's going on? Has my account...- funch

Odd problem with Decware CSP2+/Taboo II combo
The Taboo II amp has two pairs of inputs. The outer pair connect to the input on the volume pot. The inner pair connects to the output of the pot. That pair is to be used with a preamp, like the CSP. A 1KR resistor connects from the pot out to the input tube pin. It is supposed to bypass the...- funch

Burned transformer mystery
Yesterday I turned on my EHHA Rev. A and left the room to let it warm up. After about 10 minutes I returned to a smell of something hot. I turned off the amp and found the case under the main tranny to be very hot. I discovered that some of the plastic covering the tranny, as well as some of...- funch
