Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone
I always get pushback for this but I really think when people get brighter headphones they think it's more detail. That's all it is.- tradyblix

They did release the 8xx for drop but people didn't like the tuning. I would buy an HD800S again if it was like, 700 bucks. I'm not sure Hifiman is tanking their own market tho... they're selling Arya's like hotcakes atm and they're a really good value IMO. Just a pleasant, neutral, all around...- tradyblix

Nobody should consider buying Abyss in this day and age anyway. Those are legacy headphones from a time 10 years ago where they competed with Audeze LCD-2 and HD800. And Grados. I know they upgraded the drivers and tried to make a headphone for women with Diana and then tried to market it back...- tradyblix

Well... I can't argue with you there. It's strange. I would like to know the reason. I do think Hifiman is a way better choice today because of these price drops tho. I'm not sure I would have been happy with The HEKse at 3500. No sir. It's detailed and I do like that. But detail's not...- tradyblix

I didn't mean you. sorry. Susvara had just been in the conversation since prices for HE1000 headphones got brought up. for no reason. because susvara people like to show off. My advice, you should get HEK Stealth because it's the best price performance. The stealth magnet tech is better. An...- tradyblix

Yes. You are 100 percent right about that. I can't believe that just stating that they were overpriced and manufacturers should charge more reasonable prices (in general) winds so many people here up. Your headphones are going to depreciate and or be replaced with better versions, chasing...- tradyblix

No, no, I don't agree. Headphones are not Rolexes. They generally don't hold value. Rolexes increase in value over the years; they are investments. The high end of most normal headphones (5k) is the minimum entry for rolexes. They go up into the hundreds of thousands and even millions for the...- tradyblix

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone
How many different pad options are there now ? Someone should do a run down on all of them. I think someone did in this thread a while back actually. I agree, you only need 2 pairs of (hopefully contrasting) high end headphones. If you keep more because they're still good, you'll end up not...- tradyblix

They undoubtedly do have a huge profit margin on all of their headphones especially Susvara, but I doubt that a huge amount of their income comes from that headphone because they probably don't sell as many. Not that many people want to, or can, shell out five or six thousand dollars or...- tradyblix

@boodi, yes you are right. But I am also sure he can acquit himself without help. Well I am sure they're going to introduce new models at the price points they are leaving. Unless those rumors about hifiman being sold are true and having to get rid of inventory or something. I don't know if...- tradyblix

Lol. I almost spit out my coffee that was so smug. I wonder if you will be as happy as you are now if a new Susvara comes out and the old model is moved to the recently vacated 3k range. One thing I noticed about head fi is the more expensive the headphone the snootier the thread gets...- tradyblix

Yeah. I mean I understand why you're upset that you can't sell a can that probably wasn't worth 3.5k in the first place for more than 1.5k now, I do understand that, but it's great for new buyers. Like myself. Where now things are more sensibly priced. Especially After experiencing 5k products...- tradyblix

Nice to the see the very technical side. It also reminds me of how lacking in knowledge some of the "influencers" out there are. It's sad a whole generation will probably just take their word over this fine research and diagrams here.- tradyblix

Headphones nor any other consumer electronics are investments, so I guess nobody should expect them to retain value long term. They're luxury expenditures. I mean think about all the people that have headphones that are still being traded for $5,000 that aren't worth it...- tradyblix

Well, sorry, but if you say "There is no HE1000 Stealth" then that's confusing. Also, the "best" version of HE1000 is really a matter of taste. I can understand why some would prefer HE1000 stealth over the se. Anyway it's hifiman's fault for confusing the market. you got 4 versions of Arya...- tradyblix

There is, Hifiman themselves call it that on their own website, lol. Don't confuse anyone. The real problem is people call it the V2 Stealth. Which it isn't because it's not a V2 anymore.- tradyblix

The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
There are headphones that require over 2 watts to drive right. and the HE6 is probably one of them. It's fair, but I really don't think TA-ZH1ES needs to cater to headphones that need that when so many just get it right. It's similar to why put up with headphones that don't have comfy design...- tradyblix

I can tell you now exhale. if you think any of the Arya's are as good as HE1000se, they're not. they don't even have the same magnet configuration. Good ? Cool.- tradyblix

HIFIMAN Arya - Arya Stealth - Arya Organic :: Impressions Thread
The initial impression when testing a new headphone is almost always wrong. You def need a few days on them. I mean you generally know with headphones if you like them or not if you continue to be amazed by them on each listening session. Congrats you reached the first sign of Audiophile...- tradyblix
