HeadAmp Pico Portable Amp (w/ optional upsampling 24/96 USB DAC) Pre-Order Thread
I've enjoyed my Pico for quite some time now, it's nice to see the measurements confirm what I suspected...that it performs well :) I do hope that Tyll gets a chance to measure the Pico Power. I think I actually prefer it's sound to the Pico.- Nebby

You don't have to fully drain NimH before charging, for the most part that's a leftover myth from NiCd batteries. There are also low self-discharge NimH batteries which store well.- Nebby

Pictures of your computer rigs! Post them here!
Yeah, I remember building my first watercooling system with a swiftech block and a heater core. Those were fun times with the 300A. For what it's worth, the folks that don't know the difference between a custom wc rig and an all in one probably wouldn't benefit all that much from the...- Nebby

Quote: http://michaelbluejay.com/batteries/9v.html has a pretty good chart of the different NiMH and Lithium rechargeable 9v batteries. Generally speaking Lithium batteries aren't worth the hassle unless you absolutely need the extra capacity/current.- Nebby

Those are the same ones I've been looking at buying. I have that same charger somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. If Justin confirms 9.6 is fine I'll probably buy the same setup you have right there :p Quote:- Nebby

Quote: Sure, in absolute terms a custom loop will perform better but the H100 compares well especially for the price. Tangster: you're right, I totally missed the fact he was talking about cooling his gfx card. As for looks yeah, a custom setup looks much nicer but maybe...- Nebby

HeadAmp Pico Power: Pre-Order Thread
Quote: Agreed, $6 is a lot for a 9v. You can easily get some from Amazon.com for about $1-2 each in packs of 1-2, or even cheaper if you get a larger pack. That being said Justin, is the Pico Power tolerant of 9.6v? I'm probably going to go with a rechargeable set and I'm trying...- Nebby

The Stax thread (New)
Quote: I wasn't able to find the Mcintosh headphone amp, but the other brands seem to be primarily speaker preamps that just added a headphone jack to. They really don't look like a purpose built headphone amp which this Mal Ware (lol) amp is supposed to be. You say no need to unplug...- Nebby

Yeah, that tells you what the plate should be made of, but Justin is still correct when he says there's no HV specs for the plate. Quote:- Nebby
