Tidal Lossless Streaming
Me, I'm a bit partial to lossless music on the interwebs, unlike this fella : http://thequietus.com/articles/17547-tidal-pop-streaming-bellends-mr-agreeable Fair to say that he has got a point though... -
Tidal Lossless Streaming
Sounds to me like you have signed up for the lossy only trial. Tidal offer two trial subs - HiFi (choice of lossless and lossy streaming) or Regular m4a (lossy streaming only). -
iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Audio Quality
And yet, I am listening to the iOS music app now with the UD110, which earlier today connected on the first attempt within Djay as noted in my earlier post, and then required approx 5 attempts to reconnect in Djay, although the 2nd time it connected it failed to playback through the Djay app...- swab

iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Audio Quality
Thanks for the recommendations Uberclocked. I'm sure there are other self powered products that are closer to the $60 shipped that a UD110 costs. Fiio perhaps. It just galls me that the UD110 worked effortlessly on earlier iOS versions, with none of the "too much power" pop ups. Part of...- swab

iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Audio Quality
I can sporadically get my Stoner Acoustics UD110 to work without the "this device needs too much power" pop up, but only about 1 in 20 attempts, and generally only by first opening Djay app, with headphones plugged into the iPhone HP out, and only then connecting the DAC via CCK lightning...- swab

MuppetFace, hats off to you, that's some list you've compiled there... I missed the Sleaford Mods inclusion in the compilations list when I scanned it yesterday, only to see Chubbed Up on the list today, good to see they are there. I'm not going to post a top 10/20/30, many of my own...- swab

Tidal Lossless Streaming
Or is that the email to your distributor that you referred to earlier ? Not doubting you. There's nobody here would wish your music to be falsely represented. Hopefully your distro will throw some much needed light on this. Maybe you could log a query with Tidal too. For all we know the Tidal... -

Tidal Lossless Streaming
What do I mean ? I would very much doubt that Tidal would want to be known to be knowingly passing off mp3 re-rips as HIFI FLACS. That would be very sloppy business practice. However, if they are not vetting the quality/origin of the files being uploaded to their service (as you are... -
Tidal Lossless Streaming
Revelations like this can really go and tear a hole in an otherwise promising brand. Please do report back here with any explanation the distributor can offer you as to how a file you upload as an mp3 (lossy) manages to wind up being ID'ed by Tidal as a lossless HIFI quality file. -

That's the beauty of Android for you - not all phones work alike due to differences in hardware and/or firmware/software. Similarly not all USB DACs work alike. There's a thread for that : http://www.head-fi.org/t/595071/android-phones-and-usb-dacs In my own case, first generation Moto G... -
Tidal Lossless Streaming
Tidal will output to attached USB DAC already, same as any other audio app, using stock Android KitKat version 4.4.4. Sounds very lush. Greater depth and detail than Spotify Extreme. Catologue is broader than Qobuz's, but shallower than Spotify's. Upgrading to a 4G data plan aswell as... -
Blox earbuds Discussion (TM7, M2C, ANV3, BE3/BE5/BE7, B160/B320)
The stiff cabled M2C, the original batch from a couple years back, I agree have a superior sound to the softer cabled M2C produced more recently. The current batch, while still a fine earbud, are a bit darker and muddier in the lower mid frequencies (Blox confess that they are tuned differently...- swab
