[REVIEW] Future Sonics Atrio M5 with MG7 transducer
How does these sound with Trance music compared to the IE8, CK10 and TF10? Is someone able to compare them? It seems bass-wise Atrio is the best for this genre, but how about soundstaging and instrument placement/seperation for example?- Alexander01

Asus Xonar Essence vs Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD
Do you have the ST or STX? If you compare them with the X-Fi Titanium HD, which one sounds the most harsh and which one has the deepest bass? Is the Titanium HD better for Trance music (deep bass, smooth mids, clear highs). I found the Xonar STX to loud, harsh and spikey to listen too for long...- Alexander01

Two New Soundcards From Creative : Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD and X-Fi HD
So.. Still using the Titanium HD? Or did you switched back to the normal Titanium? Because you said the normal Titanium produces a clearer sound in general with deeper bass :) Quote:- Alexander01

Two New Soundcards From Creative : Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD and X-Fi HD
Can you tell us some differences in the sound signature? For example: does the Creative card has smoother highs (less spikey/sharp)? Are the mids less pronounced on the Creative card? From your experience with the the normal X-Fi Titanium, what sound difference did you notice with the Titanium...- Alexander01

Two New Soundcards From Creative : Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD and X-Fi HD
Quote: I can say the same about the PCI Creative Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer and the PCI Auzentech X-Fi Prelude. I had them both and to me the X-Fi XtremeGamer has fuller sound with better bass over the Prelude. I also prefer the X-Fi Titanium over the Xonar ST/STX. Fuller, richer and...- Alexander01

Two New Soundcards From Creative : Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD and X-Fi HD
Quote: 'and isnt quite as clear in general as the original' Interesting. What do you mean with this? Do you mean the sound is more 'muffled/muddy' with the Titanium HD then with the orginal Titanium? Also, which one does have a smoother sound? Many people call the mids on...- Alexander01

Two New Soundcards From Creative : Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD and X-Fi HD
How are the high's on the Titanium HD compared to the Xonar ST/STX? Less harsh? Also, is the sound of the Titanium HD more relax, laidback and mellow compared to the ST/STX? I found the ST/STX too loud, agressive and fatigue. Is this card a huge improvement for Electronic Music over the normal...- Alexander01

Pioneer SE-MJ51 / Pioneer SE-MJ31
Anyone here have one of those? Are they good with electronic music (Techno/Trance)? Do they have a good attack, strong sub-bass, and a wide/deep soundstage?- Alexander01

Xonar Essence ST - faulty card?
I owned the Asus Xonar STX before (Coming from X-Fi Titanium). The Xonar STX lacks the smoothness, soundstage, imaging and bass depth that X-Fi cards have. I think the high-end Xonar cards are very overrated. On paper the card is very good, but the sound it produces is nothing special. Yes it's...- Alexander01

Do my motherboard's SPDIF outputs go through the onboard sound card?
@leeperry Can't help but I just had good experiences with Creative cards because they always have the right sound signature and sound balance. Some time ago I listened to a Music Hall DAC25.2 on a Marantz PM-11S1 switching between high end speakers from Focal, JBL, Monitor Audio, KEF, TMA...- Alexander01

Do my motherboard's SPDIF outputs go through the onboard sound card?
This discussion shouldn't be: DAC through USB or Optical-out, but: external DAC or internal Soundcard?! I say internal Soundcard! When you use a high quality internal soudcard with a good computer power supply (low ripple Seasonic based units), the sound quality will be much...- Alexander01

External DAC or PC sound card
Go with a high quality internal soundcard like X-Fi Titanium HD. Make sure you have a good computer power supply with low ripple (seasonic based unit). External DACs (through USB or onboard SPDIF out) mostly sounds flat, lifeless and low-fi due high jitter caused by the computer clock. A...- Alexander01

SPDIF/optical out for onboard sound vs discreet soundcard?
I'm also curious about this. For example, does the onboard Realtek ALC889 optical out has more jitter then the X-Fi Titanium Optical out (flatter lifeless sound that lacks definition)? Also, does the ripple of the computer PSU has any effect on the jitter of the spdif-out?- Alexander01

Does "pure" sound mean no equalizers allowed? a debate:
Ok, but should I go for a good PSU, good Soundcard, good AMP + 2 good floorstanding speakers+sub or Soundcard with spdif connected to External DAC/AMP + 2 good floorstanding speakers+sub I know the Xonar cards can also use their Equalizer for the SPDIF signal, so that's a plus for me...- Alexander01

Does "pure" sound mean no equalizers allowed? a debate:
The EQ is Windows Media Player 11/12 is very good. I'l prefer it above every other EQ including the ones from the Xonar and X-Fi. Problem is that this EQ starts to clip or constantly adjust the volume if you boost the frequencies too much. The only thing that helps is reducing the input volume...- Alexander01

MAKING A DECENT HI-FI POWER SUPPLY FOR XONAR ESSENCE
Thanks for the reply. So this lab-psu is useless because the STX boardcircuit adds alot noise anyway. Sadly, I don't have any experience with modifying electronic stuff. What about this Antec Earthwatts? It has 3.0mv on the 12v and 5v line. Do you think there will be any noteable difference...- Alexander01
