Think my Beyers are wearing out?
Alright, did the signal generator test and 50-60 hz seems to be really bad. Took the left driver out and held it up to my ear - perfect. Put it back in the cup - buzz galore. I did this a few times, blew out the back of the driver with canned air, re assembled - still buzzing. Tried re routing...- Swingtops

Think my Beyers are wearing out?
So I have had these DT770/80s for about two and a half years, have been listening to them on average 4 hours a day. Have over driven them a few times with the Starving Student Amp and now the left hand side is buzzing. It seems to be really bad below 150 hz and at any volume you can hear it, no...- Swingtops

Radians custom molded ear plugs/custom iem plug
Actually I think you could make an SE530 work. I believe the key is to have the removable tips, otherwise there is nothing for the plug to grab on to.- Swingtops

Radians custom molded ear plugs/custom iem plug
Radians offers a custom molded ear plug that you can make at home for about $15. If anyone is in need of hearing protection I would highly recommend them. I shoot competitively and I can wear these plugs all day without any discomfort. I also use them on my motorcycle under my helmet - again...- Swingtops

Beyerdynamic mmx 300-am I getting enough bass?
I think my DT770s are going to have a hard time outperforming my 12'' sub under my desk ;-) But I am interested in changing drivers on my cards - didn't even know there were other drivers out there. So the beyers are supposed to be a closed back design(from beyer's website) - but you say...- Swingtops

Beyerdynamic mmx 300-am I getting enough bass?
^^ X2 Here is the link to the dell website where I found the specs A40 Gaming Headset - Black : Gaming: Console | Dell The sensitivity is basically the relationship between power coming in and volume heard. So the higher the sensitivity the less power it takes to create the same sound...- Swingtops

Beyerdynamic mmx 300-am I getting enough bass?
Welcome to Head-Fi ( sorry about your wallet )! I'll try to help you out a bit here - I have the DT770/80's and I will say without an amp of some sort the bass is just not good. The 32 ohm version should be a bit easier to drive but taking a quick look at the specs says different. The...- Swingtops

Small 2.1 Project
Are Dayton components high quality or are there better ones? I am interested in possibly building bookshelf speakers and a sub, most of the places I have looked have cheaper parts than Dayton stuff but I am worried about the quality. What sort of brands seem to be the best?- Swingtops

Small 2.1 Project
^^ I like it. Make everything - you get what you want and you should be able to get better components and end up with an overall better system. I will be interested to see how it turns out for you.- Swingtops

Small 2.1 Project
interesting thoughts, I used a port from a 10" sub and I have tried plugging it with rags but nothing seems to help a lot. The 4 - 8 ohm mismatch isn't helping me either. Pretty sure that the main problem is the box is way too big and it probably leaks as well. I think when I get some time I...- Swingtops

Small 2.1 Project
kinda have the same problem with my setup - I am trying to use a 12" Kicker car sub in a custom fiberglass ported enclosure with a JBL home theater sub amp ~150W. It's loud but it lacks any punch at all, the car subs are usually 4 ohm and HT stuff is usually 8 ohm. I think this may be causing...- Swingtops

Need some in-ear phones for Motorcycling
I would recommend something like the klipsch custom series, they have the semi rigid over the ear piece - I wore my custom 3's under my full face helmet for a 1000 mile ride and only had them start coming out in the last 40 miles. All that riding was interstate at about 80 - 85 mph. Hope this...- Swingtops

Good subwoofer between $300-$500?
dallasstar, I would have to give one vote for the klipsch RPW-10. For a home theater setup it is about perfect for under $2000. The problem that I noticed with the 12in and 15in subs is they tend to be less dynamic than the 10in. Meaning the 10in offers a punchier sound. The only bad thing about... -
Best Basshead IEM
at Orubasarot I am very happy with the bass response of the Klipsch Custom 3's - they out perform my DT770s even without an amp. However the cable really sucks, I suggest them because they have a very well rounded sound and after about 5 months of listening to them they have become my...- Swingtops
