Many thanks for your reply, Smitty. My apologies the temporary derailing. I am currently awaiting the arrival of the Mutec MC-12 USB for evaluation, BTW.- wkhanna

New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
I do not know if this has been asked previously……if so, please forgive the redundancy…. …This USB Gen 3 module……. (when) can I get one for my Gungnir? I have owned & thoroughly enjoyed my Gungnir, one of the first ones to be shipped, for some time. It gives my buddy’s NAD M51 a good run...- wkhanna

Pittsburgh, PA --Saturday, March 14--Impressions Thread
What a great event! Our gang, PiTAG (Pittsburgh Audio Group) had a wonderful time. While we are not quite the Head-Fi aficionados like you guys, we love good music & always appreciate good gear. It never fails to amaze me how audiophiles from any genre of the hobby are always some of the... -
Schiit DACs (Bifrost and Gungnir down, one to go)? The information and anticipation thread.
Quote: Quote: Are these the same filters that are used to correct aliasing? I just had a four hour conversation over dinner with Brian Zolner at the Capital Audiofest. If Mike & Jason have come up with a way to perform conversion without introducing artifacts, anomalies, &...- wkhanna

Schiit Gungnir DAC
Quote: Thanks, Solude! From the Schiit web site: I heard about this fancy new upsampling stuff, where they take 16/44.1 and magically make it into 24/192. Does your DAC do that? Not just no but hell no. None of our DACs will ever do sample rate conversion. Our goal is to perfectly...- wkhanna

can someone vet this statement.......? UP-sampling adds data that is not on the source.... OVER-sampling verifies the data is correct....... Thanks..- wkhanna

Schiit Gungnir DAC
I just got my Gungnir back from Dan (PewterTA) who was using it while I was out of town. It has well over 200 hrs on it now. It is even more balanced, musical & just plain sweet at everything. Big revelation, though………. Dan also brought his brand new MF V-Link2. We compared it to the...- wkhanna

Thanks Paradoxper (and all others who posted their observations). I like the style you used for your report. My unit is still burning in, so I will wait a while to update my findings. But I would like to add that the base is full, fleshed out, clean, crisp, fast, tight & V musical...- wkhanna

I am not well informed with regards to the M51, but I really do not think using it as a bench mark is unfair. Consider that it is packed with a bunch of features like volume control, a slew of extra channels & did not they have to absorb some licensing costs, too? What I am getting at is...- wkhanna
