REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
If I even partially understood what that meant, I might try it, Lol. Anyways, not really interested. I am content with what I am getting with current capabilities and settings. Thanks anyway for the suggestion/help.- mrcasey

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
Yes, 2 X DSD is 128. Not 256 like I stated in my first post. I have yet to see any 512 files. Playing a native 512 DSD file would be the best test. I wouldn't worry about anything at this point.- mrcasey

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I am using JRiver, Yulong Asio and converting to 256. Can't see any option to convert to 512. No issues here at 256- mrcasey

Yulong A28
If I didn't have the D8 on order I would get an A18 again. At times I regret selling mine. Not because I am unhappy with the A28 (I prefer it overall for my headphones) but because it has such a sweet sound to it. I am regularly tempted to get an HD800, just to have around, and I think it...- mrcasey

Although I sold my A18 to a friend and do not have it here for direct comparison, I find the A28 suits my Audeze headphones better. Just my take on things. It may not be the "better' of the two amps as project86 detailed above (and I agree with) but synergy makes up for things in my case...- mrcasey

This could be a strong contender for ultimate amp, especially if Yulong voices it a little more towards neutral than he did the A18:- mrcasey

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I believe if the DAC was malfunctioning it would not play DSD either. I say Mac drivers or the computer is likely to blame here.- mrcasey

REVIEW - Yulong Audio Sabre DA8 Reference DAC
I am actually looking at a pair of Dynaudio BM15A's. The speaker chat here inspired me. I have a nice 2 channel (external amp powered) set up right now but I have always been interested to try out some powered monitors. I will run them through the DA8 for now and then down the road with...- mrcasey

I just downloaded four albums from this site: http://www.soundliaison.com/ Absolutely amazing recordings in 24/96 for anybody looking for some good material to test (and enjoy) with their gear. Amoung the best I have heard. Up there with BlueCoast and dsdfile.com.- mrcasey

Although the input in the above photo reads 44.1khz, I have only been listening to DSD so far. In particular the Music from Blue Coast Records and dsdfile.com. Either direct to DSD recordings or direct to DSD from analog masters. Amazing stuff if you like the genre of music these sites offer...- mrcasey

Well...I have had the A28 out of the box and plugged in for an hour. I am driving my LCD3's through the balanced output. So far I am very impressed. The match with the Audeze's is incredible. The A28 seems to be doing a lot of good for these headphones. Running direct off the DA8 (Pure DAC...- mrcasey

My A28 arrived yesterday and is awaiting pickup at Grant Fidelity's shop. I expect to be finished this project and home Tuesday. Balanced cable for LCD3 and some new XLR's already waiting at home. Can't wait....- mrcasey

That might make for a good synergy with my LCD's. Thanks for the update. I don't think Yulong was looking to make any consistency in this design to the A18 in that sense. At least it has not been mentioned on erj.- mrcasey
