Grado Fan Club!
All this Hemp love just made me purchase a pair. On a side note, Headphones.com has a 15% discount on gift cards which I believe ends today. I just was able to buy a $250, $100, and $75 gift cards which I used to buy the Hemp for $361.25.- bigbenrfan99

Schiit Modius discussion - $199 balanced AK4493 DAC
I finally got around to comparing my Modius with my Modi Multibit. I'm glad that I do hear a definite (albeit small) difference between the DACs. I'm using a Lyr 3 and a Grado GH4. The Modi Multibit has a more aggressive, intimate sound with more forward mids and possibly slightly more bass...- bigbenrfan99

Schiit Modius discussion - $199 balanced AK4493 DAC
I'm probably a victim of expectation bias (it wouldn't be the first time), but my initial Modius impressions are definitely favorable. I was hoping to slightly smooth the treble with my Grados, and it seems like that's exactly what I'm hearing (compared to my Modi Multibit). I think I'm...- bigbenrfan99

The Hyland Headphones Saturn One, Saturn Two and Jupiter One thread
I am fortunate enough to have been the latest participant in the Jupiter One tour. A few thoughts before I post my impressions: -I intentionally did not read any of the previous posts regarding the Jupiter One so I would not be subconsciously influenced. Please excuse any possible repetitions...- bigbenrfan99

TOOL on HDtracks
I've been getting into Tool lately, and HDtracks is now offering 20% off storewide through 11/30. I have the first 4 Tool albums on CD. There doesn't seem to be a clear consensus about the hi-res versions, but the general opinion on the Steve Hoffman forums seems to be that Lateralus and...- bigbenrfan99

The Hyland Headphones Saturn One, Saturn Two and Jupiter One thread
My Saturn One arrived today! I'm very impressed with the shipping speed, as the headphones were delivered (in the US) only 8 days after I placed my order. My quick impressions compared to my Grado GH4 (using a Bifrost 2 and a Lyr 3): -The Saturn One is more comfortable, although I don't have...- bigbenrfan99

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
Yes. When I purchased the Bifrost 2, I put a note in the order including my previous order number for a Bifrost multibit upgrade. I paid the $700 + tax and shipping. Schiit sent me a $100 refund when the Bifrost 2 shipped.- bigbenrfan99

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
My unit arrived yesterday. After a few hours of warmup time, I have very favorable initial impressions. I definitely think I'm hearing a fuller sound with more details and more bass impact compared to what I'm used to with my Modi Multibit with both coaxial and USB inputs. I will spend more...- bigbenrfan99

Schiit Audio Bifrost 2
Reading through this thread, it seems to be the consensus that the Bifrost 2 is a significant upgrade from the Modi Multibit. In my system, I would be using the coaxial input and the SE output to a Lyr 3. Should I expect a clear improvement, or is that mostly related to the balanced...- bigbenrfan99

Vali 2 tube rolling
I'm a new Vali 2 owner trying to get into the confusing world of tube rolling. Any guesses as to whether this Telefunken ECC88 6DJ8 tube (which seems to normally go for around $75 used) is genuine Telefunken? It doesn't have the Telefunken logo that I am seeing on other tubes...- bigbenrfan99

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread
I've always tried to "put all my eggs in one basket" and stick with one pair of headphones which best suit my tastes. Up until now, that has been the HE-560. The Nighthawk is threatening to change that, as it seems to be a fantastic complement. I don't think I've ever before heard headphones...- bigbenrfan99

Projector Supercenter (an authorized dealer) is selling the HIFIMAN RE-600S V1 for $40.02 through Amazon. Note that there have been a lot of reported issues with the V1 cable, but you can add a 4-year Squaretrade warranty for $2.00. I think this is a fantastic price for IEMs which were...- bigbenrfan99

I just got my replacement X5. I'm now having a similar, but different, issue when using my Grado GR10. The Fiio X5 Thread
I just got my X5 that I ordered with the Adorama sale. There is a slight buzzing/clicking noise in the left channel when I use my Grado GR10. Gustard H10 vs Lyr/Lyr 2 for LCD-2F
I haven't heard the amps in question, but I'm wondering what it is you don't like about the Soloist SL with the LCD-2F. I have a Soloist (non-SL) and an LCD-2F, and I think the Soloist does a great job driving it.- bigbenrfan99
