are the w3 really better than shure se530?
I saw a poll somewhere in the forums asking people who have heard the W3's and SE530's which they preferred, and it was about 55%/45% respectively. So, it could go either way for any given individual.- Quixizous

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
...Sand Tom Waits - Rain Dogs Sia - "Breath Me" (perfect song for ending Six Feet Under) Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf Nickelback (Just kidding. Heard their latest album because a coworker just had to play it for everyone else. *gag* Some people just have no idea what's good.) -
Cheapest online prices for Shure SE530 and Westone 3?
Checked out OneCall. Seems that they are an authorized Shure dealer. If I buy from them through Amazon.com's marketplace, will the warranty be honored? Based on the posts I've read, it seems as if Shure would be cool with it, but I'd like to be sure.- Quixizous

Cheapest online prices for Shure SE530 and Westone 3?
That is a good deal from soundearphones, and buying used on head-fi would be much cheaper, too. Hmmmm. Too many choices, lol.- Quixizous

Looking for list of Shure and/or Westone authorized dealers
True, but it's a small, partial list. It doesn't include headphone.com, for example.- Quixizous

Cheapest online prices for Shure SE530 and Westone 3?
There's probably a thread for this somewhere in the forum, so if you know of one, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could link it. I'd like to buy from an authorized dealer so I can be sure the warranty would be fulfilled. So far, the cheapest prices I've seen from authorized dealers are $380...- Quixizous

Looking for list of Shure and/or Westone authorized dealers
I can't seem to find a comprehensive list of Shure and Westone authorized dealers/resellers, specifically online stores. Neither official website has one, which isn't exactly great because their warranties require the 'phones to be bought from only those dealers. I'd prefer to buy as cheap...- Quixizous

Any stores in New Orleans with IEM demos?
Sorry the search didn't pan out, subjekt32. I wasn't really expecting to find a store like that in the area, anyway. Makes me wish I lived in LA or New York or some other place that has specialty stores for everything. I suppose you could ask the SR 325i owner for a short tryout session. I...- Quixizous

2G Ipod Touch Hissin'
PeterDLai's probably right on the money. I have a 32GB iPod Touch 2G, and it has the same hiss in the same situations. I never noticed it with my relatively el cheapo AKG K414p headphones, but it's definitely there with er-6i IEMs. The hiss when no audio is playing is probably only noticeable...- Quixizous

Any stores in New Orleans with IEM demos?
True. I did just that with a Sennheiser HD 650 a while back (source wasn't doing it justice, I think). I'll keep it in mind.- Quixizous

Any stores in New Orleans with IEM demos?
Lol. I don't know anyone else around here who's into headphones, either. I figured that, out of a million people in the area, at least one would check head-fi, too. If you find anything, let me know through this thread. Would be nice to try before buying unlike every other pair of headphones...- Quixizous

Any stores in New Orleans with IEM demos?
I've tried finding information on the Interwebs, but no luck so far. I'm hoping for an audio, A/V, or general electronics store in the Greater New Orleans area that demos high end IEMs and headphones, but I'm mostly interested in the IEMs. I could just buy blind (or deaf?), like with my Etymotic...- Quixizous

Your Favorite Nine Inch Nails Song
No votes for "Perfect Drug"? Definitely my #1 choice. Combines all the stuff that makes a great Reznor tune. Watching the All That Could Have Been concert DVD right now. I swear, there must be almost ten people on stage. And how about "Just Like You Imagined" being used in the 300... -
Does Amy Winehouse get on your nerves?
I think the album is great, particularly the first five or so tracks. As for her style, personal life, etc., I really don't care. It's great to hear something new that follows a pop style that hasn't been popular for 50 years. Sound quality sucks, but that was probably a conscious decision to... -
What is the Saddest song ever written?
Landslide by Fleetwood Mac has to be one of the saddest songs written about parenthood. At least, I think that's what it's about. -
ABSOLUTELY CANNOT MISS ALBUMS (of all time?)
Gotta put in a vote for my '07 favorite, Arcade Fire's Neon Bible. The Beatles's catalogue is a must. Collect them all. As for "The Greatest X of All Time" lists in music mags, they have a tendency to rank more recent works/artists more highly partly because they're fresher in memory... -

What's your most hated category of "artist"?
Two to start off with: Boy bands. Their intended audience likes them, and that's fine, but the sheer commercialism and prefab nature of these groups just irks me to no end. Actresses/models who start singing careers because that just seems to be the "in" thing to do. I'm sure some are good... -
Who's your least favorite musical artist?
lol. I must have hit a nerve or something when I started this thread. 140 posts and counting. -
The "My very favorite Song of all time" Thread...
Of all time? Wish I could name that, but I can't do it. Changes from month to month. Favorite of '07 so far is Arcade Fire's "No Cars Go." -
Whose voice has changed the most over the years and which do you prefer?
Hetfield was the first to come to mind, too. Compare his vocals from Kill 'Em All to Master of Puppets. Huge difference in only a few years. Really doesn't sound like the same guy at all. Well, Plant is somewhere around 59 years old, so can't really blame him for the loss of his vocal skills. -
The Beatles were only in their 20's when they were together! Just realized that....
True. I think Sir Martin wrote the sheet music for the strings in "Eleanor Rigby," among other songs. -
