Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

*facepalm*   I just went and looked it up, and foobar has a downloadable vst plugin. I've tried the Virtual Audio Cable route multiple times, too XD I already have a much better VST set up with this now, woo!

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

Foobar FTW  I wish it was more well known, it's a wonderful piece of software. I'll look into that, thanks! I actually did get VSTs working through Virtual Audio Cable and VSTHost, though. Problem is the close to half a second latency. grr.

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

I mean, the HD 280s are just as neutral according to the frequency response charts, so I didn't really need them for production, these are for going places XD In fact, the HD 280s have a smaller dip around 4000 than the Geminis by about 3 db, but that still puts it at -8 db. The bass and mids...

Review by 'daleb' on item 'Takstar Pro 80'

Takstar Pro 80s NOTE: I did not buy the Takstar Pro 80s, I instead bought the Gemini HSR-1000s. By all accounts, these are the same headphones, so I brought my review from there over to here in order to give more people an understanding of these headphones. Please comment corrections if this...

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

Definitely well above the price. That's why it gets a 9. If I had paid the MSRP of $200, instead of the $44 I paid, it would have gotten a much lower score in everything.

Review by 'daleb' on item 'Gemini HSR1000 Studio Reference Headphone'

Gemini HSR-1000s   Isolation: Okay, but not great. They aren't going to block out the world, but they will make it more manageable. I would like to have something much more isolating. 7/10   Comfort: The pad size could be bigger, over a couple of hours they will somewhat hurt my ears.  I can...

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

Maybe I should have spent some more time trying to find info on whether they are comfortable/isolating (someone even asked on amazon if they were isolating, half said yes, the other half said no), but I ordered them anyways. They'll be here tomorrow. Thanks for the help!

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

One of the biggest problems is that at a low budget specs are often just left out. What I really want is stuff like headroom's isolation/frequency response graphs, but no one creates graphs for cheap headphones.

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

Hello... so I still have not found a pair. The Stretches showed up broken, so now they're going back. They were VERY comfortable, though.   So, I guess I'll reiterate:   -Headphones that are incredibly comfortable (not too heavy, no death grip, have to be completely over-ear, etc.) -as...

Double blind tests of seperate amps/dacs vs. directly into sound card?

Well, of course there are lots of horrible foxconn and the like motherboards, especially motherboards made for prebuilts with planned obsolescence in mind, but by "my motherboard," I mean an Asrock H97m Pro4, which has a Realtek ALC892     I disagree. I have never seen proof that tubes...

Double blind tests of seperate amps/dacs vs. directly into sound card?

I'm sorry, but I feel what you are saying, and what everyone else has said, goes entirely against the spirit of the question. Everyone is posting this information on how amps affect the sound of a pair of headphones, and I have found this information over and over, posted by many different...

Double blind tests of seperate amps/dacs vs. directly into sound card?

I went looking around and there are tons of double blind and ABX studies that prove that amps don't do anything when they get expensive, but these studies always compare $100 amps to $1000 amps and above. I can't find anything that compares plugging headphones directly into the source (e.g...

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

I went and looked that up and got conflicting stories. Some were good: While others said they were incredibly uncomfortable. Maybe the autistic kid didn't have touch issues? Don't know.   My mom finally found my HD 280s at their house. I won't get them back for at least a few days, as...

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

I have owned the 201s and 202s. The 201s didn't isolate and I remember the 202s having a really strong clamp, and also being on-ear instead of over-ear (or at least, they didn't fit my ears). They were not comfortable at all, sorry :c   I haven't considered active noise-cancelling because I've...

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

Sorry, but those won't work. They're open back, meaning they won't block out any sound. And I also don't want to be taking such expensive headphones out and about. Open-back headphones would be specifically for home, and I will be getting the HD 600s. Probably will be at least 3-4 more years...

Finding a pair of headphones for autism/sensory issues?

Hello!   I'm looking for a pair of headphones to help me deal with my sensory issues. Here is a video that shows the sense issues, though it can't show how badly touch hurts. So, I would like to have some headphones to wear for whenever this gets too much. My last pair of headphones were...

Double blind tests of seperate amps/dacs vs. directly into sound card?

I've been wondering truly how much of the amp set ups are placebo and how much has been proven to matter (or as close to proof as one can get). I've seen tests on low-end DACs/Amps vs high end, but nothing about just plugging directly into sound cards are motherboards.   edit: I can't figure...

Do you ever have those times where you wish you were a mod because of how horrible a thread has become?   This is one of those times.

Yeah, JSR got that treatment, but I think Shenmue is a lot less likely to get it. It just won't sell as well. I'd love it if it did, though!

PS4 vs XBOX ONE (What would you buy and why? No fanboy like comments please)

Sega seems to be slowly porting all their games over to steam. There is a good chance there won't be a remake, but there should be at least a port.

Shenmue is a pretty cool game! I never got to see much of it, though.
