I got my N3Pro a few weeks ago, and boy is it lovely! Having an occasional hard freeze/reboot issue scrolling large directories while something's playing, but I'm sure it'll be resolved soon. I'm working on a pair of review videos, an early impressions video, and an eventual long-term update...

Not really. A planar uses a voice coil, where these rely on polarization of the entire membrane.

Interestingly enough, a fellow reviewer shared with me a conversation he had with the manufacturer of the Magneto-Static driver in the Tape/Singer, and it turns out the Noble M3 uses the exact same one. I'm sure it's tuned differently, but nonetheless fascinating.

Guess I'm alone in really liking the Singer. I'd agree that the bass is a little loose, but overall I found them really pleasant. I haven't heard the Starfield yet, but it seems that I need to A/B them against the Kanas Pro.

Here's my update on the R5 after several months of use as my primary player. Still very satisfied with my purchase.

Here are my first impressions of the Shuoer Singer. For the sake of clarity, it is not a single driver. It is an 8mm dynamic + their "electrostatic" tweeter.

Welp, my second Z04A unit just arrived, DOA on the right channel just like the first set. While I'm thoroughly enjoying the Z05A, I can't rec the Z04A because there seems to be a QC issue with the batch.

Bad news, the right MMCX connector on my Z04A is DOA so the comparison will have to wait. Replacement will be here in a few days.
