For sale is a very special, class-A, 2 x 9V powered, custom portable amplifier. Hand-built by HeadFi user @xrk971 on special order, this particular NHB Pocket Class-A is configured with upsized output capacitors and increased bias current to accommodate planar magnetics. Powered by two 9V batteries driving only 4 active components in the signal path, the NHB Pocket Class-A also provides ample voltage-swing for higher impedance headphones. Tuned intentionally for tube-like harmonics, the Pocket Class-A provides a sonic signature unlike any other amplifier I've owned. I don't know if xrk is still making these, but this is the 40th unit made.
