iBasso IT04 IEM, 4 Drivers. Enjoy the Music! Release: July 2, 2018
Thank you for your answer! I know they are closed, but I have a pair of Fiio FH1 and they are closed as well, but probably due to a very tiny hole on the body of the IEM, people around me can hear the music (actually just the beat). I use foam tips and they fit perfectly, so I'm pretty sure that...- Chrono251

iBasso IT04 IEM, 4 Drivers. Enjoy the Music! Release: July 2, 2018
A question for the lucky guys that had the chance to try the IT04: are they fully closed and insulated to the outside? I mean: can a person next to you hear the music with the IEM in your ears?- Chrono251

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
In the end I formatted the card and copied the library back using the USB cable connected to the X7ii. It works perfectly now, but it took a couple of hours to copy all the files.- Chrono251

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
Hi! I don't know what happened, but I loaded about 50 new flac files using the USB Storage mode as usual (I always copied the files using the USB cable connected to the X7ii in Storage mode). The problem is that now I cannot play anything: - Initially the Fiio Music app froze every time I tried...- Chrono251

FiiO FH1-1 Dynamic + 1 Balanced Armature dual drivers Hi-Res Audio certified
I agree with your sound impressions and I slightly tweaked the EQ as well to reduce the upper midrange. I'm not sure if it is just the placebo effect (or maybe the fact that I'm using the Comply 500 foam tips), but I think that they become a little more balanced with use. The upper midrange is...- Chrono251

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
I've used the X7ii for a couple of weeks now and the last weekend I was away and I extensively used it (6+6 hours in the plane, plus where I was). I'm really happy with the device! After getting used to it I think it is the right DAP for me. I happen to use the DAC feature from time to time and...- Chrono251

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
Hi! Thank you for your reply! 1. I have no idea how to do that: when the X7ii is set to DAC mode, only the settings menu is available and the EQ is not selectable from there. Is it possible to change the EQ in DAC mode? 2. DLNA: I tried that already and retried today, but I'm using a NAS (not...- Chrono251

iBasso IT04 IEM, 4 Drivers. Enjoy the Music! Release: July 2, 2018
I understand and I think you are right: it is possibly frustrating, but it is a better policy in reality. It is better to wait a little longer but be sure that the product is actually ready for sale, rather than receiving a bad product. I hope the IT04 will be ready soon, I'm really looking...- Chrono251

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
It was set to balanced mode. I changed it to performance and also 176.4 and 192 kHz are not distorted, thank you! It is interesting though that after switching back to balanced mode... 176.4 and 192 kHz work as well. I'm not sure what is the logic behind that. This is similar to what I...- Chrono251

Same here, I have the money budgeted and I'm ready to push the order button when it appears on the website. My birthday is coming in a few weeks, I was hoping to give me a nice present with the IT04. Please give us the expected release date ("before summer" is a very broad period...).- Chrono251

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
I did some test tonight and here is what I found. Hiss It seems that the root cause was the equalizer in Fiio Music. Even if I moved the sliders very slightly, the sound quality was significantly compromised. Both the slight ringing and strong hiss went away after turning EQ off. I double...- Chrono251

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
Thanks for the answer. Here are more details: - I know that ASIO is separate from DS, that is why I tried both audio from foobar and windows sounds at 96kHz. The ringing was there with both. - It is correct that I first noticed the issue with audio files 24 bit and 96kHz in foobar. They sounded...- Chrono251

FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out
Hi! I was looking for the X7ii thread EXACTLY for the same issue. I received the X7ii today. It is a really nice looking unit and it sounds great. I also bought the FH1 and use them with the balanced cable with the X7ii and I really like the combination. I also tried the DAC mode of the X7ii...- Chrono251

FiiO FH1-1 Dynamic + 1 Balanced Armature dual drivers Hi-Res Audio certified
Package received! I'm pretty much happy with everything so far: fit, weight, sound quality, cables. I'm using the balanced tips and the X7ii as source and DAC with audio from the computer. I only experienced some slight sibilance while playing some songs, but that was very likely due to the...- Chrono251

Choosing a DAP
I'm planning to use it when I'm not at home and occasionally as a portable DAC when I only have the laptop with me. I made the purchase tonight and I bought the Fiio X7ii. Thank you for your help in choosing! Next are the IEMs, I'm waiting for the iBasso IT04 to be available.- Chrono251

Choosing a DAP
You are right about that. I was wondering one last thing: can any of those devices be controlled by the in-car audio system if connected with USB? I could find information only for Fiio and unfortunately it cannot be controlled over USB, but I could find anything for the other devices. I guess...- Chrono251

Choosing a DAP
Thank you for your detailed recommendations! I think that maybe the DX200 is a little too big, I would like to carry the DAP in my pocket and by the numbers it is the bulkiest of the list. I'm ready to order a X7ii, but the R6 is very intriguing (in particular for the UI speed, as reviews...- Chrono251

iBasso DX150. Dual dacs and interchangeable AMPs. **NEW Firmware that supports AMP9! ** New FIRMWARE 1.05 Dec 30.
I'm looking for a DAP and the DX150 or DX200 are in the list (https://www.head-fi.org/threads/choosing-a-dap.877135/). I have two questions about the DX150 (but I guess the same applies to the DX200): 1) considering size and weight, how does it feel when it is in the pocket? I'm concerned about...- Chrono251

Which IEM? Audio-Technica vs Campfire
Hi! Thank you for your detailed description! From what I read the Polaris should be better for me between the two. But, considering the difference in price, the Polaris comes close to other hi-end IEMs. Would you recommend any other IEMs, that I should take into consideration?- Chrono251
