Review: Philips Fidelio L1 [Updated 5/14]

I would be interested to hear the L2 as I find the L1 to be a bit too "dark". As for amplification, I am very satisfied using the headphone as is. Very happy with the sound wether it be coming from my laptop, iphone, or dac. Very versatile which is one of the main reasons I've held on to it.

Interesting EQ settings, you don't find that it makes the headphone sound too dark?

Wow I wish I had waited a couple more weeks to order mine! I bought mine from amazon warehouse for just around 200. Still very happy with what I paid for, but they are a true steal at that price.   Here are a few impressions I have of the headphones (re-post from what.cd):   I got the...

Thank you for the clarification, much appreciated.   How did you get them for so cheap! Was it from a fellow head-fi member?

Review: Philips Fidelio L1 [Updated 5/14]

Hello guys,   I'm sure this question has been answered before, but what is the difference between the Fidelio L1/00 and the Fidelio L1/28? I'm looking to purchase a pair and noticed that the L1/00 is $20 more expensive on amazon. Any reason behind this?   Regards,

Quote: Quoted from way back, I'm clearly too slow to keep up with the thread. I had the DT990 600 Ohm, I'm sure they are not that different. But the biggest factors leading me to sell the HE-400 were the following:   I felt the soundstage was slightly larger (something I enjoyed) I...

Sold my HE-400s, I simply enjoyed my DT990s more. May have to purchase those again some time.

I unfortunately do, lots of my electronic music has sounds in that frequency range and it can get quite fatiguing. But as I've continued listening to the headphone, I'm starting to adapt to its sound and appreciated its clarity, although I do find that many of my piano tracks sounds slightly...

Quote: Amazing! This is exactly what I was curious about. Thank you for doing this mod. I personally much preferred the velour material on my DT990s. I'll definitely be doing this mod :)

I have an odd request: does anyone own both the DT990 and the HE-400? If so, I was wondering if you could try to put the velour pads from the DT990 on the HE-400. I don't want to spend 34 dollars on the DT990 pads just to realize there is no way I'll get them to fit. The reason why I want to...

Rough^^   My ears are slowly getting used to the emphasized treble though. I'm finding myself able to enjoy most of my music, with the exceptions of certain tracks like the one I linked above. Overall this is still an amazing headphone, and there have been a number of tracks where I truly...
