Weird Request: Can someone finish a Dynahi amp for me? (willing to pay of course)
Weird Request: Can someone finish a Dynahi amp for me? Here's the deal, I don't really do DIY and definately not something this complicated. I bought this incomplete Dynahi amp a while back relatively cheap. Forgot who I got it from, but I think they said the PSU/transformer - something...- Yang

Avel transformer for dynahi
This is the AT CE6558/1 model by Avel. I think it is the custom enclosed one made for dynahi via Head-fi a couple years back. Thanks- Yang

Avel transformer for dynahi
Can someone please explain how to interpret the following configuration diagram for the Avel transformer and which configuration is appropriate for the dynahi power board (forgot what the dots mean as well). Second time trying DIY, but it's been a few years, so any help would be great!- Yang

DCP-70 - is this the Denon sound?
The only Denons that are worth getting are the DCP-100 and DCP-150. I had DCP-70 a long time ago, was not impressed at all, so sold it right away. I also had the D-303, D-555, D-777, D-E900, D-25 and D-15 (sold all), like the D-303 best, but still sold it in favor of the Denons.- Yang

Aiwa No More...
What just happened btw last night and now? There goes the Aiwa combo. I guess no shootout with the DD9 then Are you positive that it is beyond repair? You really should try to get a refund. Maybe it was the abuse from the shipping, five weeks on the sea without care is one tough trip...- Yang

Denon DCP-150
LamerDeluxe, Actually, I stayed with the original holders for the DCP-150 for the mod, as I could not get both battery holders in like the DCP-100 because the 150 had a slightly larger PCB (just one corner). So I just got the spring connections and placed them in there with some 2 sided tape...- Yang

Denon DCP-150
Got this a few days ago and got it to run on 4AAs. The AD D/A Converter runs optimum on 5V, so the 4.8V of the 4 rechargeable should not affect the sound. I tried an outside 6V battery pack and could not notice a change in sound, although I really lack the high end phones to be sure of this...- Yang

SONY WM-DD series
NEO, do you know about the sound quality of the DD series (not specs)? There are a ton of them going for pocket change in Ebay Germany. Also, what's wrong with the WM-DX100?- Yang

AIWA HS-JXM2000
I have one, mostly for collection purposes. I actually sounds pretty sweet with Type I tapes, but can't handle metal or very thin ones (110/120min) well. The radio has great reception too. Only bad thing is all digital controls: used 120min tapes once, the tape got eaten, some got into the...- Yang

Rank your portables in terms of sound quality
Krayzie, Yep, the DD9 is solid titanium, front and back. I feel I can smash just about anything with it. Still no MDR-E484 or PX1000?- Yang

Legendary Portable Cassette Players Gallery
Krayzie, Why did you contact me earlier? Just sold the JX707 2hrs ago for $95. But if you ever look for one, go to Ebay Germany. One shows up there every 2 weeks for $60-100. That's how I got mine (No, I can't speak a word in German, but of the 5 items I bid from Germany, each seller knew...- Yang
