The discovery thread!
Just received my HifimeDIY Sabre USB DAC and did some basing comparisons with my Yulong D18 Sabre/A18 combo and the combo somehow sounded better, or did it? Bought the HifimeDIY Sabre USB DAC directly from there site and the least than one can say is the packaging is very light, just a small...- Yahoe

Headphone stands
I just received my Wooden Headphone Stand Headset Support Type U CLASSIC bought from chmayu on the usual auction site, very impressed by the quality of the item, came in it's own cloth bag, very well packaged. It took a month to get to me by registered mail, with a tracking number.- Yahoe

Yulong Sabre D18 thread: reviews, impressions, discussion (full review added 2/5)
About the power light issue, this is the respnse I got from Rachel at Grant Fidelity: "So far I see all D18 and A18 have green lights - haven't seen one with blue light yet but sometimes factory do make minor changes without telling us. This doesn't indicate any difference of quality though." So...- Yahoe

That when Redco Audio Design Your Own cable becomes interesting because you can have any length, even short ones with a good choice of cable and great Neutrik XLR connectors for a very fair price.- Yahoe

Connecting the HD650 to the Yulong single 4 pole female headphone connector
That clears it up. Thanks! It would be a cable like this one then: http://tamaudio.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=37_48&product_id=124 Does anyone know of any alternative, how they compare? -
Connecting the HD650 to the Yulong single 4 pole female headphone connector
Thanks but I'm not equipped for soldering nor have I done any in ages. The HD650 balanced cables I've found have to xlr connectors, one per side, the Yulong A18 a a sole female 4 pole XLR headphones out (yes there is also a 1/4 but that's not what I'm trying to use here). -
Connecting the HD650 to the Yulong single 4 pole female headphone connector
So I got my new Yulong Sabre A18 and it offers a 4 pole XLR out for the headphones. I'd be willing to try MY HD650 on that very connection but don't want to buy a XLR to Sennheiser new cable set. I do not seem to find any proper adapter or ready made cable for that matter. Any recommendations?- Yahoe

Cosmic Ears - new CIEM company with great prices (including Hybrid designs!)
Cosmic ears advises to send them a picture of your impressions by email prior to actually shipping them. I've done that 10 days ago, and still no answer from them after two emails. I've paid for my order and all, so what gives? Are they swamped or maybe there service is not that good afterall!?- Yahoe

What would be a good step up to the Grant Fidelity TubeDAC-11 D/A Converter?
No, but I'll look into it. My TubeDAC-11 is used with a HD650, and is connected to a Beosound 4 paired with Beolab Penta 3. It's not that I'm not pleased with the TubeDAC-11, more curious.- Yahoe
