I've found my iPhone 3GS sounds great by itself with the se530s. And yes, I have used nice dac/amps before but the I find the iPhone to actually sound pretty good alone.

I'm selling a yulong dah1 for a little more then 250. I'd do 260 shipped with money order. I've been very happy with it. Even if you're not interested in mine, I'd still consider a used yulong. Mine sounds great with HD650's.

A lot of Z-2300's and the older models had problems with the volume control failing and causing loud static. They may not be the most accurate speakers, but for computer speakers they are great for the price.

Have you thought about the A2's and use the extra money for a cheap external sub? Maybe a used one off craigslist or something?

I'd go etymotic er6i and swap over a iphone cable. It seems like a hard task, but if you're OK with a soldering iron you'll be fine.
