I have just received my Meze 99 Classics. I think the pad controversy might have been blown out of proportion. I don’t hear anything wrong with these. The bass is not masking anything, not bloted, not too much like people have been saying. Overall I think the sound is just right, nothing strikes...- tili

what i don’t like about this headphone is that you can’t padroll. the only aftermarket pad is too damn expensive and if something happens to your original pads the replacement is not that cheap either. also the customer service is not very popular among the customers- tili

try lowering the last two points in the eq graph to your taste. if you are not happy with the sound, don’t buy a dac/amp for a headphone you didn’t like. how loud can they get btw?- tili

does that mean it’s easier to drive than 1st gen? 1st gen: 34Ohm, 0.06mW needed for 90 d BSPL 2nd gen: 38Ohm, 0.05mW needed for 90 d BSPL so ohm is higher but efficiency(?) is also higher- tili
