Hi, everyone!
As you see, we have a lot of things going on these days! :k701smile:

First, we have this great Pair Up campaign going on until February 14th. It runs only on our website and it goes like this: for each Meze 99 Classics or Meze 99 Neo headphones you buy, we give you a pair of in-ear as a bonus. Your local Meze dealers may have different offers, so you might want to check on them too.

As for Empyrean, we recommend you to keep an eye (or two :eyeglasses:) on CanJam NYC.

Hello @MezeTeam

I have a question: Will you ever bring back the balanced cables for the 99 classics? I see that they are sold out on the official site.
Hi, KLJ1992!
We should have them in stock in about 2 weeks so stay close!

For more details on this subject, please write an email to Vlad - our support guy - at support@mezeaudio.com

Question about ear pads. I trust both the Neo and Classic, the latest builds and releases, have the newest (Generation 3 I think) ear pads? I ask since the Neo I'd got from your site arrived with pads that let both ears occasionally touch the inner drivers (not bad though, not pressing against them). I wasn't crazy about their midrange then. I ordered a brand new pair of pads and put them on. They were thicker and/or firmer so only one of my ears (which are normal in flatness against my head) occasionally touches, very rarely. That actually improved the sound a bit, the midrange was just right, the mid bass bump seemed more balanced, and the spatial sound, and midrange realism was the best I've ever heard on any pair of headphones ever (and I've tried hundreds). The highs are also great, no harshness, and almost all the detail I need (just occasionally a bit too laid back on duller recordings).

Hey, @Mark Up ! You got it right! Both 99Classics and 99Neo have now the same generation of earpads, made of soft PU leather with medium density memory foam. So our new earpads have the following inner dimensions: 64 mm height x 49 mm width x 22 mm depth: ±1mm. There may be little differences between the earpads, depending on the time that passed between your purchases. We're here to help if you have any other questions.

When did this version become official? I ask, as the very latest pads on my Meze turned them from great treble, mids that were a bit ringy, cupped hands sound, with that high bass to mid bass bloom that could annoy me, into the best sounding, for my taste, headphones I've ever used. Highs are detailed yet warm, mids less ringy, and now having a kind of 3D realism like I've never heard in any open or closed can and mid bass that is just right, with the same great extended sub bass. Taking off the strap with a Tor6 screwdriver made the headband sit perfectly on my large head with some minor bending (not possible with the band on). These pads were the final magic, they even made my Sony MDR-1A cans better.

Now they're far above their price class (adding midrange space and ridiculous low sub bass like I've rarely ever heard before). They are my ideal second pair when I want a bit more infamous "V" shaped sound (more lower lows, a touch less low mids and mids and a bit more high mids and treble than the Meze 99) and more portability, as they fold flat into a 3rd party hard case I bought for them. I'd really found two headphones that can accommodate any need in my home studio and I could confidently mix and master with them. The Meze still edge out the improved Sony in comfort and 3D sound that is so encompassing. I think if Tyll heard this pair in his review as they are for me now he'd have liked them a lot more.

What's the difference between the classics and neo headphones?
