Done! I'll be doing a second version soon, some minor quirks I need to work out. Biggest issue is with the headband, this cheap Chinese simply sucks in every way imaginable. Suggestions for low-budget alternatives?- TijmenK

DIY Cable Gallery!!
I got my Fostex T50RP's today, I'm planning on reterminating them to a 1/8 jack, but didn't have the tools handy to do so. I wanted to listen to my new headphones but I couldn't find a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter, I did have a big-ass soldering iron and an old 1/8 cable lying around, curiosity got the...- TijmenK

The "non-Grado" Driver Grado Thread
I tried to make some wooden rings and failed miserably, how did you make those? My SennGrado project: http://www.head-fi.org/t/738035/senngrado-appreciation-thread/195#post_11391377- TijmenK

Thanks for the advice about selling them guys, I'll look into it. My first set is almost finished, only need to drill holes for the headband and the wires and then connect them. I've ordered some paracord to sleeve them, I'm not sure how big the hole needs to be so I'll have to wait for...- TijmenK

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread
I just picked up 10 feet of Tasker C 264 cable for €12. Proper steal and should make for good headphone cable. 12 multicore cables with 2 30AWG cores each, shielded per pair so should be pretty strong. I'll have to live with all those funky colors, might look into painting them because...- TijmenK

Thanks for the info guys, "cost of the parts" leaves some leeway I guess. I'll contact one of the mods by then and ask them what they think of it, I'm definitely not in it for making profit, just trying to minimize the costs of this expensive hobby.- TijmenK

Yeah I did, here's a cross section of my Solidworks model: So there's a lip for both. I used 4 different sizes for it. ~60mm for the outside diameter, 48mm about 8mm deep for the driver, 44mm for the main inner diamter and 38mm for the through hole. When I have perfected...- TijmenK

Got my holesaws in all the right sizes so I had a go with some scrap wood: http://imgur.com/a/qmBQH Tad rough around the edges, but more than happy with how it turned out. The grill fits perfectly, stays in place without glue. Next step is finding the right wood and liberating...- TijmenK

"Double Barrel" Fully machined aluminum closed back headphones
They look amazing! How did you fabricate the headband, did you roll it? What's the thickness, and how's the clamping force? Do the rodblocks allow for adjustment on the go or do you need to unscrew the screws before adjusting?- TijmenK

Could use some help with fixing my Fischer Audio DBA-02 mkII
Not sure why I didn't think of this before but I just put a multi-meter to the plug and got some readings. Nothing earth shattering or conclusive, but I sure felt smart. Only got continuity from the ring to the sleeve, no continuity on the sleeve to the tip, nor on the tip to the ring (duh)...- TijmenK

Could use some help with fixing my Fischer Audio DBA-02 mkII
My Fischer Audio DBA-02 mkII died again a while back, the right side is just fine but the left isn't doing anything. I had my first pair replaced under warranty with the same problem but the second pair died just a couple weeks out of warranty. At first they were willing to fix it, but now...- TijmenK
