You can't have replay gain and bit prefect at the same time. Replay Gain is software signal processing, having it enabled means bit perfect is impossible.

The smallest in this price range AND with the battery I can think of is iFi iDSD Nano (way bigger than the Dragonfly though and requires a (rather) rare USB Type B OTG cable (or a clumsy adapter).    I own and use this one, and it sounds absolutely gorgeous for the size and price, and IMO, WAY...

Am I missing it here, or it was not mentioned - what exactly DAC chip is used in the Slim? The same Verita, as in HD? Or a different chip?

 Well, browsing to a file and editing it every time you connect the USB device is a bit cumbersome for everyday use,, but thanks a lot for pointing to this solution: it may be a saver in an emergency situation, where you need to connect something badly.

  Switched from Samsung Galaxy S3 to Xperia Z1 specifically for the unique ability to charge the phone while using the USB DAC! LOL )    But I agree - flaps are a little... well... annoying! :)
