what's more important, a good DAC or a Good Amp?
If what you want is a surround type sound. I think that you must start with the headphones, then the amp and source. For gaming or movies, if you want a large sound stage that has depth. I would say akg 702 on the cheap-ish or, go for broke and get some Stax. Simplifies the amp portion a bit...- spacemanspliff

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR
Quote: That would be a yes. I had your sound card and even my simple Z model is better much less the ZxR. More of an improvement in gaming and movie sound than for music.- spacemanspliff

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
Quote: Sometimes that is just a hair in the driver. Or something got loose inside the cup and is rattling about. Take a close look at it. Take off the driver cover if you need to. Otherwise, Sennheiser will fix or replace it under warranty usually at no charge. Listening to some Live...- spacemanspliff

VSONIC GR04 standard edition?
Thanks! I thought they might be the ticket at the price point. Are they bulky? Seem to be square shaped? I listen in bed sometimes and need them to be a bit flush for that. If not, no worries. I can always grab some phillips 3850s or whatever they are nowadays for nighty night usage.- spacemanspliff
