    Project Ember Tube Rolling

Hi, DecentLevi is correct, those are the adapters Im using. I bought a variable power supply at that auction site. Link is here. You will also need a copper wire to ground the power supply to the ground on the rca inputs. I also bought some thicker power cables for it since the ones that came...

    Feliks-Audio ELISE...New thread.

Well thats not really a fair comparison. You need to compare the Elise with this:

    "Budget" Tube Amp

Output impedance is very important. I notice that when I shift between the various settings on the ember the sound changes remarkabely. I usually go with the 0.1 ohm output impedance which pairs very well with my low impedance headphones. The vali and the little dot 1+ that you mentioned seem...

    "Budget" Tube Amp

For $500 you could get yourself a Project Ember and a cheap dac like the odac. Add $50 for a better tube. The option to change output resistance on the ember I believe is a great benefit. Just an idea to give you something to consider and keep in mind that I havent heard many tube amps.

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

I would like to know the result of that. If someone could drop a link to where the drivers can be purchased I might be interested in giving it a try.

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

Im quite sure I will prefer the mahogany version. It already has more than enough bass for my taste. What I would be really interested in is a fostex-massdrop collaboration using the th900 driver. They could use the mahogany cups to increase the mids and smooth the treble a bit and voila they...

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

Sure, it rumbles quite good in the sub bass area but the mid-bass hump made me have to eq the bass down so I lost a bit of the rumble.   Really enjoying my th-x00 so far. They will do just fine while I wait for the th-1200 which will have the mids and highs of the th-x00 and the bass and...

    Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review

I use the equalizer to increase the midrange a bit and decrease the bass by about a decibel. That tightens up the bass and makes them sound much better imo.

    Project Ember Tube Rolling

If you think about a concert hall you have a really large stage and all the various instrument classes are placed in various positions. With the Fivres huge soundstage you can hear the instruments playing from all various positions so it feels almost like being at a concert. With more modern...

    Project Ember Tube Rolling

I just noticed that the Fivre 6c5g has an extensive soundstage. Sounds quite remarkable listening to classical music. If thats your kind of music I can recommend it.

They don't have a lot of distortion, just a bit when compared to the Visseaux. Everything is relative. The Fivres will help you with the bass for sure but I don't think they will do much for the treble. Anyhow its a fine tube so I don't think you will be dissapointed.   In that video I linked...

    Project Ember Tube Rolling

Im actually trying to be the good cop and save your wallets . But don't get me wrong here, the Fivre is a very enjoyable tube and I can listen to it for hours .It's just that it is competing with "creme de la creme" of tubes.   I was just listening to the Visseaux's and admiring how accurate...

    Project Ember Tube Rolling

I have both the Visseaux and the Fivres. The Fivres win in bass and sub-bass extension but the Visseaux wins in the other areas, it just sounds more correct while the Fivres sound a bit distorted in comparison. My advice is to save your money if you already have the Visseaux.

    Project Ember Tube Rolling

Some tubes have arrived:   Visseaux 6j5g: Impressive sound, unfortunately one tube had some piece of the getter missing and it had a terrible humming sound. There was definitely something fishy with that tube but the seller agreed to issue a refund so I am happy with that.   Mazda 76: This...
