Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Hey Jason! Hel looks pretty awesome. I did notice on the Fulla 3 page, there's still one case of the text saying "Fulla 2":

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I also had an awesome experience with Schiit's customer service. I emailed them to let them know that my Magni & Modi worked out of the box without any issues on Fedora 20, got a reply literally within two minutes, and within twenty minutes they'd updated the Modi FAQ to mention that Fedora...

E-MU 0204 USB: Damn, They've Done it Again! And for $129!!!

Quote: Ugh. I love the 0202 hardware, but the drivers are a nightmare, and if their official position is that they're not going to support Lion I'm not going to be buying any more E-MU hardware. Such a shame.

    Ripping Program

If you're on a Mac, I really like XLD http://tmkk.pv.land.to/xld/index_e.html; on Windows, I use Foobar 2000 http://www.foobar2000.org/ with "Open audio cd" and then right-click, Convert (totally customizable, pretty straightforward).

I NEED HELP PURCHASING COMPUTER SPEAKERS!!!

Quote: I would definitely get a USB DAC. The Nuforce uDAC2 is my current budget favorite (I paid $129) and has RCA line-out which should work great with the Lepai.

++ FULL-SIZE HEADPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS THREAD++ CLOSED: Please post a thread in the Introductions, Help and Advice forum

I'm spending more time at the gym lately and I was wondering if anybody has recommendations for decent headphones for the gym. I've been using my TripleFi 10s, but they don't seal very well when I'm sweating, and they're also kind of expensive, so I'm worried about ruining them... I think I'd...

How long did you own your HD800 before you noticed a small nick in the plastic

I've been as careful as possible with mine, but I think it was maybe three or four months in when I noticed the first sliver of paint missing around a corner. I freaked out a little bit... $1400 and the paint just comes off like that? They still sound amazing and they feel just as comfortable as...

Couple of questions about the T1's and HD800's

I've never tried the T1s, but I'll throw in a "me too" on the HD800s being unbelievably comfortable (and I'm pretty sure the ear-cup is bigger than on the 555/595s, so they should fit you just fine). Before I bought the HD800s, I had HD280s, HD515s, and AKG's K271 and K702; the HD800s are in...

    Sennheiser HD580 or HD598?

Quote: The Grados sound pretty awesome, but I can't wear them for more than an hour or so at a time - they are probably the least-comfortable headphones I've ever worn.

Help finding a USB DAC/ADC ...is 192/24 possible?

The E-MU 0202 is decent, not amazing, but surprisingly good for under $100 - Amazon has it for $94 right now. It does 192/24, and IIRC it's a Cirrus Logic CS4392 chip inside.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Nuforce uDAC USB DAC AMP with line out and S/PDIF out

I think I saw somebody mention this earlier, but I'm definitely having an issue where after playing music for a while, the uDAC starts generating a hissing noise. If I unplug and reconnect the USB cable to the back of it, the noise goes away, but eventually comes back. Is my hardware defective...

    New listener

The HD800s are quite pricey, but damn if they aren't a fantastic upgrade. The way I justified purchasing the HD800s, to myself anyway, is: if I have these, how tempted am I going to be to buy other headphones in the future? Honestly, at this point, I can't imagine being tempted by any...
