Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Drivers are based on the AD900X but appear to be tuned for more bass (either that or they have achieved the same effect by other means). It's still not bass heavy by any means but just not as bass shy as the 900X. It's excellent but I wouldn't pay more than say 130 for it purely because it is...

Excellent news! Thanks for the update! Guess I better update it then.

Yep. Ironically it’s all documented on another thread on this very forum by the aggrieved brand rep. And let’s also not forget what he did to Jomo. . . Basically - “How dare you not respond immediately to my demands for a review sample! £#%* you, ...(insert bestial racial pejorative)...

BGGAR? . . . Seriously? That’s your benchmark critic? Lol, p-lease. What next? Crapgamer for gaming reviews? QuantumApotheosis for UHD TV tech?

I have both the X3 and G6. The X3 is better for the PC-only gamer but for gamers who use consoles supporting optical as well, if it was one unit or the other, then the G6 is better / more versatile because it has optical in and can therefor do proper Dolby 5.1 > VSS conversion for consoles. The...

The G6 Dolby setting / dial is just a dynamic range control (Auto-volume balancing) setting for Dolby content.

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

Thank you. The Garage 1217s have also piqued my interest. Did you build the crack or buy it pre-built?

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

Thanks guys. Any tube recommendations in case I go for the Lyr? Also, Bob whose namesake went to the same secondary school as me, what Hybrid amps do you have and would they suit my needs at all?

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

Thanks for you input! I already have the Massdrop THX AAA but I can't use it for the HD800S without EQ, too fatiguing. I *love* the sound stage, layering separation and holography of the HD800S but without EQ it is just too much for me. Even love the bass impact too but without EQ, it's just a...

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

Noted. Thanks for your input! It will tame / smooth the HD800s treble too then? I don't want to have to rely on EQ (to make the HD800S's non-fatiguing) as I currently do now.

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

Thanks! Was already considering that one! Thanks! Also in consideration. . . But I have heard that at least with stock tubes, it's more "warm/smooth as far as Schiit goes", rather than warm/smooth in general. Are there any particular tubes you would recommend that would achieve my preferred...

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers

Hi Dan, Like qsk78, I am also looking for a planar companion for my HD800S. Accordingly, I have already decided on the Aeon Open 2 and look forward to getting it. I am also looking to get a new amp. Are you aware of any amps or dac/amps at the 500 or under price point that will pair well with...

Given that they are already implementing that with music streaming on mobile similar to SXFI, can't see why they wouldn't adapt that for PS. I did like what he mentioned about fine tuning possibilities, using interactive test cues to dial down positional accuracy.
