While very good, the HD660S has a pretty different frequency response. It has considerably less bass and treble.

Has anyone measured (or knows) the maximum output voltage of the newer (2018 onwards) MacBook Airs (i.e. 3.5mm jack)? An old post from NwAvGuy shows that the 2011 MacBook Airs were rated at 1.4 VRMS; the new MacBook Pros are rated at 2 VRMS - and I can confirm that the latter sounds about...

An iPhone can drive these up to 108-9 db; a MBP can get to around 115 db. You'll most likely be fine.

Indeed. I have to say I'm impressed by their social media team and the fact that they actually answer technical questions on frequency response, driver configurations, etc, which other companies usually don't do.
