Dacs: Used CORDA DACCORD FF (Meier) or new Modi 3
Title ^^ I can get the dacs for around the same price, what would be ideal? Please share if you have had any experinces with mentioned dacs, sound signature changes etc. Mainly using the HD800S and Beyer dt990. People are welcome to suggest other dacs of course. Sounded very neutral to me, might as well buy a solid state, great amp for the price though.- Relic123

Budget Tube amp for the HD800S?
Thanks for the suggestions. Balanced output with a warm sound signature would be the ideal purchase, so I rather skip the cavalli. The WA6 though, any experience with that particular amp?- Relic123

Budget Tube amp for the HD800S?
Thanks mate, for the in-depth answer. After looking around, checking reviews etc., I would say I lean more towards the echo, especially since I can get it new, which is what I prefer. A side question however, as you seem knowledgeable and well informed; What would you say about my dac of choice...- Relic123

Budget Tube amp for the HD800S?
Sup folks Got the Jotunheim with the dac-module, not the best pairing with the HD800S I confess. Looking for budget tube amp with a warmer signature, that could reduce some of the sharp highs I'm hearing. I tried the Schiit Valhalla 2, but it's pretty neutral for a tube amp. Needs to be...- Relic123

Hiss is killing my Piano Tracks! (HD800S)
HD800S + valhalla 1 + Modi multibit sounds hella good. However the hissing kills all my piano tracks, like it's really noticeable. Is it just the fact, that the valhalla is a tube amp or could there be other possible culprits, before I run out buying a solid-state amp. Cheers!- Relic123

Schiit valhalla 1/modi multibit vs Jotunheim
I ordered the HD800S, should be here after new year. Now I'm wondering if I should sell my Valhalla 1/modi multibit stack and go buy a jotunheim instead. Jotunheim also got the XLR port, which is something good right? Thoughts on this? Some says the jotunheim is excellent, others says it makes...- Relic123

Best openback headphones for fps games
Thanks for the info mate. One last thing though..I read a few places, that the treble on the 800s tend to be a little bright/harsh, your view on this? I sold my beyerdynamics, cause of their harsh treble.- Relic123

Best openback headphones for fps games
Thanks for the recommendations everyone, after Beowulf's advice on used pairs, I looked a bit around for used headphones. I found a brand new pair of 800s on ebay 620$ cheaper than what they cost new in my country. Any thoughts on this?- Relic123

Sorry again! I found a pair of 800s for around 650 dollars, but they are 3 years old, doesnt that seem a little too old, how do high end headphones like the 800s age? Also Dac/amp recommendations? I'm running the original schiit valhalla atm.- Relic123

I feel its a little lacking in the soundstage department, its a struggle to precisely pinpoint, where the enemy is. for music and movies its excellent.- Relic123
