Volume is the amplitude of the wave, so it's voltage. Power is not the actual volume.

I have the Asgard 2 with LCD-2 and it's very good. But I think it's quite limit on the power side. LCD-2 requires 1-4W, while Asgard 2 may be able to push only ~900mW in 70 ohms. But not really a problem. It's quite a good setup. I have the Gungnir as DAC.

Finally discovered that this is an impedance phenomenon when my Onkyo receiver is turned off.... weird.

Ok that was weird.   On my Gungnir, I have two sets of RCA outputs. I just switched the outputs between my Asgard 2 and my Onkyo receiver and no more distortion on both end devices with Audirvana set to DAC Only Volume Control.   Quite weird .... But now I'm satisfied. Anyone can explain...

Finally bought the LCD-2 :) But they are not brand new, but for the price (500$ less than new), it's a real joke. I made the deal of my year ! The sound is incredible ! :) 

Just bought a pair of used LCD-2 for a ridiculous price. It's incredible the sound that comes out of these cans. Asgard 2 drives them nicely.

I listened yesterday at the Audeze LCD-2 in store. Quick audition, nothing really serious, but the songs I listened to are simply amazing. The bass in these headphones is simply mind blowing. The sound reproduction too ! I've never heard anything like this before, so realistic, so precise...

I listened for the first time today to the Audeze.    It will be for sure the next pair of headphone that will be plugged into my Asgard 2 :)

I'm kind of new to this world so I must admit I have no idea what these numbers represent in real life. It's loud enough ? I don't usually listen to music very loud but I want to be sure before paying 1300$ CND for a pair of headphones :P

Simple question here : Is the Schiit Asgard 2 enough to power the LCD-2? I'm planning to get these since everywhere I read reviews it seems it can change the way your listen to music :) DAC is a Schiit Gungnir.

I have the Gungnir first gen with the Wyrd USB. I bought the kit in April. Consider at least a full 2 weeks to get the full potential. It seems to have a burning time or something like this with this DAC. You may hear the high frequencies getting better as the burning process goes on. At least...

In best of worlds, yes, this would be the ideal thing to do, but in Montreal you can't find a Hifiman dealer, while there is one Audeze. And ordering both and return one is not really an option.
