I tried the above and it has made it a little faster now about 30 seconds between screens in 'Play By Category'. Still to slow to be usable.   I will format the cards tonight in the player and let you know how I get on.

Apologies if this has previously been answered.   When the X5 2nd gen is connected to the pc does it appear in Computer as separate drives for each SD card?

Apologies if discussed already. I am still waiting for a firmware upgrade on the X1 to sort the 5800 file limit due to the database limitations which was promised months ago.   Is this also going to be a limitation of the X5 2nd gen on its launch? Pretty much a dealbreaker for me if so.
