Looking for a pair of cheap and comfortable headphones
Thanks for all the replies so far, the PX100 looks like another good option, too. As for Grados, I have owned a pair before and I have also thought about getting them for my friend. But they cost a lot in NZ, even the SR60i costs NZ$199 (about US$130). There is the cheaper iGrado option...- p997tt

Looking for a pair of cheap and comfortable headphones
Thanks for the suggestions so far. I was considering the RX700's, but I don't think any of the shops that ship them to NZ have these in stock. I was hoping to get the phones by the end of next week. HD201 looks like a good option. The price is well within my budget too. The Denon's are...- p997tt

Hi. I am looking to buy a pair of headphones for one of my friends as a gift. Here are the things she is looking for - Her main concern is comfort. She wears glasses and doesn't want the headphones to hurt her ears after a while. - She doesn't care about look and brand. - She will be using...- p997tt

How much money have you spent on headphones in total?
About NZ$13500 (~US$8100). I've also sold of a lot of stuff and what's left is pretty much what's in my sig. A pair of PS1000s has been ordered and fully paid for, so need to add another US$1695 to that amount soon. Really hard to believe that I spent this much though. I first started...- p997tt

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
Hi guys, a quick question here. Are the TF10Vi's identical to the TF10Pro's, with the exception of the mic? They both use the same drivers, right? Sorry I don't really have much time to search over the forums or internet about this. The reason I'm asking is that I'm planning to get a TF10 to...- p997tt

Need upgrade advice for my 007A setup
Thanks for the replies. I have slightly changed my mind and decided to also take tube amps into consideration. I did a quick search and found the WooAudio GES. The price is only US$1450 without any upgrades, which is well within what I'm planning to spend. But how does this amp sound...- p997tt

Need upgrade advice for my 007A setup
Hi, I am currently in the process of saving up for the next upgrade. Right now I am planning to spend NZ$3000 max (around US$2000) and it will still take about 3 more weeks until I can save up that much. But I want to do my research earlier so when the time comes, I don't need to spend time...- p997tt

Looking to import a Stax O2 system
I just got my system today, and so far I am really enjoying it. I got one question though, what is the best way to charge these headphones up (I heard that the O2 needs quite some time to charge up)? Do I constantly need music playing through them or can I just leave the headphones plugged...- p997tt

The Stax thread (New)
Please excuse my ignorance, but I heard that new electrostatic headphones need to be charged up first. Is this process the same as burn-in for dynamic headphones? Or do I just need to leave the headphones plugged into the driver unit with the driver unit turned on?- p997tt

Looking to import a Stax O2 system
The courier came today but I was at work and no one went to open the door at home. Looks like I have to wait a couple more days for them to redeliver it. Quote: Originally Posted by krmathis I am 99% that it comes with a power cord. Its just a regular IEC connector. Which you...- p997tt

Looking to import a Stax O2 system
My package left Japan yesterday and is on its way to NZ. But one thing I want to know, does the SRM-727A (or any other Stax amp) come with a power cord? I am also getting the Churi transformer from PJ so if the 727A doesn't come with a power cord, I guess I will need to buy one with a...- p997tt

Looking to import a Stax O2 system
Thanks for the replies. I just placed an order at PriceJapan and chose bank transfer as the payment method. But I am wondering, do I need to send them a comfirmation email after I transferred the money? I found it funny that there is no order number from the email they sent me, and...- p997tt
