    SONY IER-Z1R

I mean improvement in how the highs and lows being represented by the IEM. Well, I kinda missed the sound of dynamic driver, I was actually looking at fw10k but I got a good deal for this so I might as well go for it. I'm kinda glad that nowadays manufacturers are racing to make more hybrids...

I'm using wm1a, that might be the reason Well maybe I'm also bored of pp8 after 2 years but honestly I feel like even thought I lost a some of those super squeaky clean feel, the gain in the low and highs made it up for me.

    SONY IER-Z1R

Finally sold my PP8 and bought this. I know their soundsig is both different but holy crap, this is really an upgrade. I never expect anything to improve significantly after the point of diminishing returns. Any ear tips that I should try? I used the hybrid from Sony and I found it...

    SONY IER-Z1R

Went to canjam SG this year, now I'm in a limbo between Z1R and Tia Trio, I found that Trio to have more refined sound especially the bass but less treble sparkle and less grand sound stage. Meanwhile Z1R, I gave it 2 more listening, I must say the sound is a bit less coherent but it conveys...

    >make IEM >any portable source won't drive it to full potential If that is the case, what's the point :triportsad:

I remember it tamed the highs in a good way and give more decay and body to the bass. There's still problem with the mids though.

You guys should try swapping tips also, I'm very curious how this iem responds to it, cause I can't stand the stock tips and finally when I used my mandarins, I can enjoy the sound.

    SONY IER-Z1R

It's similar in a way that it has that u/v shaped tendency but other than that it's a very different presentation, pp8 is very squeaky clean studio feel meanwhile z1r feels more like a cafe type of environment. The bass in z1r is far superior in all ways than pp8 but for the highs I think is...

    SONY IER-Z1R

I can't stand the Z7 and Z1R headphones, there's just something not right about it for me but somehow I like the IEM.

Got a chance to try it today using my WM1A from balanced out, went to Singapore Sony flagship store, overall complain is the same. Bass is damn awesome yet it doesn't mess up the highs, I feel percussion just sounds right not too bright just enough shrills but I have complains on the mids being...

Geek Pulse: Geek desktop DAC/AMP by Light Harmonics

Anyone tried fixing dead dial and display by themselves? I mean like soldering out old broken components for a new ones? I never opened my unit but the dial and display is dead since September because of slight power surge, the only solution they give me is to flash firmware which is software...

Been trying to find comparison between the V2 and ether, I can only find between v2 and flow or v1 and ether. Could anyone give me the impression between the two?

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

the fact that DP-X1 is very digital in nature didn't help the IE800 making harsh sounding tone in some parts of songs, so maybe it's the DX200 itself also but I think it's also the synergy that makes the combo good.

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

I was surprised that the bass is now meatier and more precise meanwhile the treble sparkle is tamed a bit but still exciting (feels a bit warmer than usual but not by much). Sound stage is really good especially if you hear orchestra, you get the sense of space and correct positioning. I'm...
