My little doggy is dying...
I too have lost a pet in the past. I still remember the first time Saigon (my Pomeranian) spent the night without his mother. We took him home with us and, as we didn't have a sizeable lawn or kennel for him to sleep in, he was placed in a shoebox in the corner of my bedroom. He was a pup at...- ootput

av710 bitperfect test
The white noise you're hearing probably means that you're not getting bit-perfect output. I also use the DTS files from here edit: It may also be possible that you're not using the correct player. I did my testing with mplayer while using linux, so I'm not certain as to what a good windows...- ootput

Laser printer is the way to go! Say no to inkjet!
I made the mistake of purchasing an all-in-one HP machine a few months ago. All I can say is: "Never again.. Never again" My old laserjet 5L is still fully functional, and had I not moved to a different state, it would still have been in my possession. I guess I can't complain though...- ootput

Where can I find the asio.dll - related files?
Hi guys, I'm not having any luck with the links offered at Hydrogen Audio Otochan.com doesn't seem to be resolving for me either. I'm planning on testing bit-perfect output (asio more preferable than ks,) in Windows XP after having bit-perfect output via s/pdif on my linux distribution...- ootput

Excessive perspiration any tips?
I used to be a heavy smoker, and to make matters worse, I started when I was extremely young. Around the age of 20 I started perspiring obscene amounts. I quit smoking thanks to several health-scares (midnight asphyxiations with frequent paramedic visitations,) and with an improved diet, my...- ootput

I have seen the lossless light!
Oh, yeah! Storage size for Flac can get pretty insane. I've had to move my flac collection to a separate dedicated fileserver ( which contain HDD's in place of Media Drives.)- ootput

Laptop ~ Aria DAC ~ So many questions?
I won't lie: I don't know too much about CDex. I quit using it in favor of EAC once I realised that I was owner of a few damaged cds, and that CDex wasn't up to the task of ripping them properly. I'm of the opinion that most Flac users @ Head-fi use EAC as their ripper of choice. EAC has...- ootput

Who's still on socket A (waiting for AM2)?
I use to be into obscene overclocking mods (I have several dfi lanparty's that are barely recognizable ), and Bartons (and the newer xp-m line) used to be my core of choice. I've since quit overclocking (I lack the motivation,) and my machine is chugging along nicely @ stock 2600+M speeds...- ootput

Laptop ~ Aria DAC ~ So many questions?
I'm not as knowledgeable as the rest of the h-f folk, but here are my ideas: Quote: Originally Posted by PaulBoy how much will FLAC improve output compared to my existing mp3? - I use CDex to extract mp3 from my CD's & believe I can add a utility to convert to FLAC (as external...- ootput
