Headphones that eliminate all outside noise?
Two possibilities... in-earplugs + head-earplugs... it cuts out an amazing amount of outside noise. There are also devices that can emit an inverse sound wave thus cancelling out the outside noise. It actually works... not perfect, but it helps.- Okigire

In-Ear Monitors...
I can't say I'd be surprised... the isolation when singing can change the way you hear yourself, and that could be disastrous if you're hearing a "distorted" version of yourself. But, without monitors, is it really any better? Maybe they take one out because they think it'll fix the...- Okigire

...whoa, such a huge drop from 8 to 2 hours for a rechargeable? Is this just a general example or does battery life actually drop by 4 times?- Okigire

E4c's vs. IM716's?
The microphonics can be quite bad on the iM716's though I haven't had a serious problem with it. How good are your ears... can they pick out the little stuff? If you have a good sense of hearing, then the E4s might be good... for something a little more "fun" the iM716 should be fine. That's...- Okigire

In-Ear Monitors...
Hm, how well do all find adapting to IEMs? Facelvega mentioned that with IEMs, it's isolated so you can't hear any feedback from FOH/etc... do any of you find this problem? How is using generic Shure or other e2c-e4c/etc IEMs... any problems (vs custom molds)? Obviously customs are better but...- Okigire

iM716 initial impression
A lot of people have mentioned their disapproval with that volume control. It's heavy, it's non-audiophile-like, bad belt clip, etc etc. You should look at getting some different eartips. The mid-size or generic tri-flange is horrible for me... I can put them easily and get a good seal, but it...- Okigire

In-Ear Monitors...
Sorry, by performers I meant musicians, singers, actors, and everybody else that performs on stage. I can totally see that though.. you don't get the same feedback as you do with open-air wedges. Did they end up staying with their IEMs?- Okigire

good service experience with Etymotic
....after 2 years you got a replacement? ...AFTER the warranty? Wow! I guess they're serious - did you have to provide any receipts or anything? I don't usually keep that sort of thing...- Okigire

Should i buy the iM716?
^ It depends on what you're looking for! If you want bass, etc, then probably not. It's a good all-around phone with a good response.- Okigire

Size of the iM716?
The ER6 or 6i are great for sleeping... they're tiny, even with large bi-flanges... the small ones work even better, but unless you have tiny ears they'll get stuck and you'll wake yourself up trying to get those poor things out!- Okigire

In-Ear Monitors...
Yeah, I saw that JPop thread but wondered what people are actually doing. It's cool to pick out details that people would otherwise not care about! For reasons of performance - what are the advantages of each? What "generic" ones are out there that are used?- Okigire

In-Ear Monitors...
If the purpose you use IEMs for is for listening to music -- this thread is NOT for you. In-Ear MONITORS... the keyword here is monitors. On stage, what do your performers use? What works best for you? ...what do you do, and what do you use (equipment/surgical tape/etc)? ...and of course...- Okigire
