Cayin RU7: 1-Bit Resistor Network Dongle DAC /Amp

Thanks for the quick and clear explanation. Usability feedback is that that wasn't obvious to me and I won't be unique. Some brief explanation on the tabs would help. Also on each tab just showing six products and having to 'click for more' in the hope that your product will appear seems an...

Cayin RU7: 1-Bit Resistor Network Dongle DAC /Amp

I am using the RU-7 with USB out from Windows 11 PC. The Windows volume controls do not control the volume output of the RU-7. I saw someone asked about this a while back but there wasn't an answer. I can't find a definitive statement as to whether this is possible or not. So I went to check...

You shouldn't resist that kind of thing. It causes stress and that's bad for you, and you lie awake yearning for electronic goodness. How did you try it? What stood out for you? I tried it and couldn't hear a difference from my DX300, but that's just me. If I had a less capable DAP - or none...

Thanks for the suggestion - and yes, I do have some apps. Whilst they can help sometimes it's not a feasible solution for something I'd be using a lot, but they can be handy sometimes for occasional use.

The colours aren't transposed, they look the same. Things that look obviously different to you, look the same to me. If you do a Google search there are sites that show what colour blind people see.

No, although some people do. I'm red/green blind, others may be yellow/blue blind. It's not always easy to describe. I'd be able to distinguish a yellow, for example, but there will be other colours I can't distinguish. Some will be ok, others not. Sometimes if two colours are next to each other...

    CanJam London 2023 Impressions Thread

FWIW here are my impressions of the show. I just went on Sunday, having been for one day last year also. Let me say first off that I don't necessarily seem to hear the nuances or have the language to describe the specifics of what I hear. I just know if I like something or not. It was great to...

Eh? I've just had a look at the manual. I wouldn't know which colour is being shown a lot of the time as I can't distinguish between them (the colours). I wouldn't know what menu mode it's in, or what the tone setting is, for example.

I haven't looked in detail how this works, but colour coding doesn't sound very friendly for those of us who are colour blind. About 10% of males are colour blind.

Is there an actual reason that the floor plan and programme can't be posted? The floor plan was posted in the preview thread but it was removed - although it carried through in the notification email I received, so I have it. I suggested a preview of the programme in the preview thread but...

Take as much as you can so you can compare - you'll probably regret it at the time if you don't. Known discounts are an earlier post in this discussion https://www.head-fi.org/threads/canjam-london-2023-august-19-20-2023.968155/post-17689679

Having only been once I'd say you can take what you want. I took my one pair of IEMs to be able to compare. Unless you're arranging to meet people there probably aren't any or many who are going to listen to what you take. Nick

It would be really useful if we could get a PDF of the programme in advance rather than just when we check in. Time at the event is precious and some pre-planning would help.
