    LOL I don't think the colour has anything to do with the sound... I think they took the opportunity to improve some aspect of the sound while releasing it in a new colour.   Driving them with my Fiio E12 at the moment and they sound a lot more punchy.

    Pretty sure if you buy new now, you'll get the V2. No idea about a V3... The V2 was only launched last week! And in any case, I think it's more like Beta/Pre-Production vs Production, rather than V1/V2.
