Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
Without having read the thread: Get the O2 + ODAC and never worry about amp/DAC quality ever again :) Drives everything from in-ears to hungry Hifimans and 600 Ohm Beyers. I'm using the combo to drive my HD650s and the sound is flawless. E.g...- morks

Good combo? Nuforce uDAC2 + Schiit Valhalla + DT880/600
Wow, you picked one of the worst engineered amps and dacs :D Protip: be sceptic of everything you read here on Head-Fi. Google "O2 ODAC" instead, that will give you the provably cleanest sound at a ridiculously low price. The O2 is so good its' author got banned from Head-Fi ;)- morks

O2 vs TOTL

O2 vs TOTL

O2 vs TOTL

Headphone CSD waterfall plots
I had the same "something is weird" feeling with my T1s while still subconciously going for them every time. Took me some months to get used to them. Like them now :) Humans are very adaptable, I suggest you buy them again ;)- morks

Beyerdynamic DT 990s Treble
Beyers can sound sibilant to you if you're used to other headphones. Rule out hardware/recording issues and then give your brain time to adjust. I needed a lot of time (months?) to get used to the T1 (was using DT880s before) and don't really hear the sibilance anymore that annoyed me to no end...- morks

Headphone CSD waterfall plots
Mh, sorry for deing so demanding purrin, but would it be possible to measure the T1 again, this time with an output impedance of 100 or 120 Ohm via a stick-inbetween-adapter or something? Beyer's own A1 has that output impedance, curious to see what effect it has on FR and the rest. This reminds...- morks

@purrin: Could you slap a 10-band-Eq with -4 dB at 8 kHz on that T1 and measure it again? I'm curious what the effect on the FR and resonances is. Hum... then again, I tested 2 equalizers in maybe not equal circumstances, but they sounded different with the same setting... mh. maybe I'm doing it...- morks

Uh, I'm confused, is that with equalization or just the baseline to equalize against? Because the 8 kHz area still looks as aggressive as the first measurement you posted ;)- morks

@purrin: Is there any way for you to acquire a T1 again? I stumbled over http://www.head-fi.org/t/531401/ade-tuned-beyerdynamic-t1 and on a whim equalized the 8 kHz band to -4 dB (build-in 10-band-equalizer of Banshee on Ubuntu 11.10). It suddenly sounded more natural and balanced, the tinnyness...- morks

ADE tuned Beyerdynamic T1
Very interesting! I used an equalizer to lower the 8 kHz band by 4-5 dB and my T1 suddenly sounded more natural/balanced without losing any of its' qualities as far as I can hear, except maybe a bit of detail-by-brightness or however you call that. Before, something always sounded... off, for...- morks

Gamma-2 (γ2) DAC Thread
Just wanted to chime in and say that my Gamma2 is alive and kicking. Thanks amb! Now I only have to find good music. Although, could you please say somewhere on the Gamma2 site that for the G2 to work with the G1 D config (and others?), you need more parts than what its' parts list suggests...- morks
