"Soundstage: Big for an iem for sure, but there are iems in the lower price ranges that are a lot bigger......" Which IEMs at this price point or lower do you like for soundstage? I tend to prefer soundstage over other sound qualities....

    HIFIMAN HE-R10 Closed-Back Headphones Discussion & Impressions

Isn't he the guy who posted the Saigon execution image when people were criticizing him here? Or was that someone else and I'm confusing them?

This review made me dig out my Senn 558. Those were my first headphones that weren't just whatever Best Buy had in the store. Always loved the soundstage on these.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Years ago, one of my first jobs was working in the acquisitions department of a collectibles auction house. My responsibility was to try and get collectors to consign through our company. It's a solid, well-run place to do business with, but it made me feel gross that I wasn't allowed to just...

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours

I have the F9 and the Q1mkII. I've spent time with both the balanced and regular cable, and I honestly can't tell a discernible difference between the two. To me, the balanced output was more of an "icing on the cake" feature; it will be great with harder-to-drive headphones (where people tend...

I'm quite happy with my entry level Audio Technica turntable that was around 100 bucks or so.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I probably started reading CNET's reviews around 2012 or so. I only ever remember Steve crapping on one piece of equipment and that was the Pono player. Actually, I only found out about Schiit because of Steve's reviews. I don't live in an area where there are brick and mortar stores selling...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Agreed. He's an audio reviewer for an overall electronics website, not a specific, audiophile-oriented website like Head-Fi. His writing isn't meant to go in depth with terminology most people wouldn't care about. It's meant to act as an intro to a product and talk a little about how well it...

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours

It's not that they can't make the DAC/AMPs work with Android, it's all the proprietary crap companies layer on top of Android. I have four different Android devices at home, and they all handle Host Mode differently. You essentially have a different version of Android for each device family...

Because despite Jason issuing a press release explaining why they won't support, MQA, people still ask why they won't support MQA. And because I'm a little salty today.

Licensing fees and insight into the device manufacturing. And like I said, this is all the same nonsense people said about DSD. Even if MQA is somehow better, and that's far from established, the cost of converting music to MQA probably won't be worth it for the handful of audiophiles who want...

Don't get me wrong. I subscribe to TIDAL, just not for MQA. Their catalog is really good and the software lets me save music to my devices.
