Audio-gd USB-32 Firmware, Drivers, and Feedback Thread

I just installed the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update... Can you see where this is going? My NFB-1 (2014 edition using VIA USB interface) wasn't recognized at first. Then after a reboot Windows saw it again, but it didn't work. It would only output a soft static hiss. Tried to tell Windows to...

Hard-wiring the Ultrasone Pro 900 (with pictures)

Chris,   Not sure if you still frequent this forum, but I wanted to tell you your guide helped me a lot. Just tonight I got my Pro 750s working through 4-pin XLR. This page inspired me to learn to solder. Thanks.

Audio-gd USB-32 Firmware, Drivers, and Feedback Thread

I flashed my TCXO upgraded NFB-1(2014) to the v2 firmware. It became noticeably warmer in tonality and more detailed (more soundstage cues and other fine details).   norrest, I'm not sure you're asking if the v2 firmware will solve your problem, but if you are, it likely won't. My NFB-1 still...

    The Stax Thread III

I'm looking at putting together either an SR-L700 or SR-009 system eventually... I have an Audio-gd NFB-1 (based on the Sabre ES9018) that I currently pair with Ultrasone headphones. The Ultrasones have a reputation for brightness and so does the ES9018, but all I hear is clarity when the...

    Audio-GD NFB-1.32

I noticed the same thing, Chik. A little bit warmer tonality, as others are saying, but with no apparent loss of detail and a much better sense of space and location. It's easier to feel like I'm really inside what I'm listening to or watching. I was surprised.

    Audio-GD NFB-1.32

Kingwa sent me a link to the firmware update tool, but he says not to give it away or post it online. If you want the firmware update, you should email him.

    Audio-GD NFB-1.32

I don't think there's anything wrong with the USB cable. As long as I'm not turning the DAC off and on it keeps connected. Since I started keeping it on all the time I've had zero issues.   I have no issues with ASIO, either, and that's not what was causing the drop-outs anyway. It was system...

    Audio-GD NFB-1.32

I am using the included USB cable (plugged directly into the motherboard) and the included power cable. I have installed the correct 2014V3 USB32 driver.   I play music through Foobar2000 using VIA DirectKS ASIO, like the documentation describes. It also works perfectly when it's called on to...

    Audio-GD NFB-1.32

I've been using the NFB-1 for a month or so. It's hooked up via USB to a Windows 7 machine as defined as my default audio device in Control Panel.   My research indicates the problems I was having with my NFB-1 getting dropped by Windows is part of a widespread series of issues Windows has...

    Audio-GD NFB-1.32

POST REDACTED. I just hooked this DAC up today. I'm a huge noob and I emailed Kingwa and his people about a problem I was having. I'll post back later to tell you guys what the problem was and to tell you the solution. ______ UPDATE: I have been using the NFB-1 (2014 edition with the TCXO...

    Audio-gd NFB-28

Kingwa said that the digital volume control (which I know is only for the amp portion) and superior power supply make no difference and that in balanced mode is the only time the NFB-28 is superior? I keep reading about his reputation for modesty... Maybe I should be looking at getting a...

    Audio-gd NFB-28

Do the NFB-28 and Compass 2 really share the same DAC? The Audio-GD site says that the NFB-28 features a "real balanced DAC" and I see no such mention on the Compass 2 page.

Chaintech AV-710 Setup Thread, Including True 44.1kHz Wolfson Output in XP

Six years later and this thread is still helping me get my old $20 PCI sound card to blast some tunes into my headphones. Thank you, infinitesymphony and all.

Post the last thing you bought. Oh fun!

I finally bought some CDs (Bedouin Soundclash's Sounding a Mosaic, Bastid Sonz' Round Two), and my dad bought me a pair of KSC75s.
