I am looking for a decent quality radio FM receiver and amp. Just a basic walkman that picks up FM radio. I dont need anything fancy, just something that has: respectable headphone amp digital tuning portable/small (fits in your pocket) Less than $50 USD and available in the States Can...- MCImes

Need wireless home theater amps recommendations
I want to make an outdoor movie theater, but I dont want my neighbors to hate me so I want to use wireless amps and headphones that all receive signal form the same source (a single master transmitter). I'd like to drive at minimum 2 pair of HE400i's and have the system capable of adding more...- MCImes

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
Yes, but I'd prefer to repair vs buy new. They're still perfectly fine except for the chevrons. Do they really not sell replacement parts for the only plastic part on them?- MCImes

V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.
Hey Guys, I love my M100's but after hundreds of hours of being abused I finally broke the small black chevron shield things the provide the clicking/resistance when adjusting the headband size. Where can I buy new ones? Also, I can attest that these headphones have survived 2 years of working...- MCImes

I second that the X3 and DX50 are about equal, but quite different. I listened to Howdy's X3 and was unimpressed. I listened to his DX50 and bought one for myself. I prefer the iBasso sound over Fiio, although the X5 is pretty good too. The DX90 price just dropped to $380, and I was very...- MCImes

The answer to everyone who wonders if they should try a new firmware is.... YES! Know why? we all like a slightly different sound so what I like you may not. We can all decide on the 'bad' ones fairly well, but in terms of the 'best' one, that is up to you, and only you can decide after you try...- MCImes

After listening to Docs favorite firmware v3 for the last hour I think it may be my favorite fw overall. I actually liked stock 1.5 a lot. I thought SU 1.3.3 was good but too flat for my liking. DFFv1 was very good. I think I like DFFv3 sliiiightly more. I would for sure fail a blind ABX test...- MCImes

I like DFFv1 much more than V2. Low end boost is there, but not as much as V2. I like it more because it sounds to me like it more localized to the true bass region (<60hz) as opposed to v2 I think it bleeds into the low midbass which creates a muddy sound to me. vocals sound good, maybe not...- MCImes

Just put Doc's favorite firmware V2 on. My impressions after 10 minutes of listening: -Strong kick drum thud, seems like there is some low and mid boost. Highs seem neutral -Vocals are very good. very good. -Electric guitar range seems boosted (probably overlaps with vocals. this lends itself...- MCImes

It is not recommended to run your HP's from the line out. I forget exactly why, but its been discussed in this thread before and the consensus was you should not do this. If you have hiss in high sensitivity phones, you need an amp or less sensitive headphones. Running headphones from the line...- MCImes
