Many thanks about your inputs regarding ZX300, N5II and Cowon P1. It is difficult to find comparison of ZX300 and P1 by personal experience. I guess that single ended of P1 cannot match crosstalk of balanced ZX300 and therefore soundstage of P1 should be lacking in comparison especially on 32...

Once I saw this video about m50x first time, I decided to mod my MSR7. It is not so difficult and mainly, many players has better output on balanced.

Hi, I want to buy new DAP for my ATH-MSR7. I pick from these: Sony NW-ZX300, Cowon plenue 1 and Cayin N5II. Can anybody experienced compare these by its sound details, dynamic, sound stage, layering, instrument separation, punch,... I am going to recable MSR7 to balanced in case of balanced...

Could anyone tell me about the dalay of USB DAC mode on ZX300? Is it fixed (or make it negligible) by latest firmware? Or is there settings to make it ok?

MSR7 has emphasized highs therefore it is not my taste while listening electronic genre by default. I use custom EQ reducing gain of high freq. in such case. Additionally, LG V20 has ESS DAC and I would recomend to read something about LG V20 sound signature first. ESS has usually highs glare...

I cant share opinion of brain forming. My MSR7 was too sibilant as well from start. I couldnt listen this for lets say more than an hour. Therefore I take it away while playing songs via DAP for lets say 60 hours. After this excercise it was ok to listen.
