Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
Quote: Have you thought about adding the USB upgrade and the Uber analog board? I did both to my Bifrost a couple of months ago and it raised the Bifrost's overall quality to a whole new level. I am using the Bifrost in my 2-channel rig at this time and my iFi USB & Modi for headphones at...- Lee Harvey

Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade
I received my Uber and USB upgrade boards on Wednesday. It's great that others served as guinea pigs when it came to taking the Bifrost apart and putting it back together. I had no issues with getting the LED's lined back up in their holes and getting everything back together. When I...- Lee Harvey

Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade
Quote: I do find that the iFi Power Supply helps the Bifrost. It adds more focus to the overal presentation to the soundstage. It helps with separation between the players and makes everything a little more sold sounding. I think its well worth its $199 price. I have about 40 hours...- Lee Harvey

Schiit Bifrost Uber Analog Upgrade
I just ordered the Uber Analog and USB upgrade boards for my Bifrost. Hopefully they will be here by the end of next week. I also ordered a Modi DAC to play with. I want to see what my iFI USB Power Supply does for it since the Modi is powered by its USB connection.- Lee Harvey

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
Quote: Congrats Skylab on the new speakers. I think Pioneer, pioneered the development of Beryllium drivers. Go look over at the TAD site and they go into the construction process of beryllium drivers that they use in the Reference Ones and the Compact Reference Ones. tad-labs.com The...- Lee Harvey

iFi iDAC & iUSBPower appreciation thread
Quote: I have been running the iUSB for almost a month now with a Bifrost I got in January. Does it make improvements to the Bifrost? Yes. I emailed Jason@Schiit.com if he thought the iUSB would make any difference in sound quality. He didn't think it should really do anything...- Lee Harvey

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
I say to spend the bucks to get the SX-1980 sorted out by qualified Pioneer service center. That hum when you touch the volume control is not a good thing and is probably a grounding issue within the unit. I just got my SX-1080 back from a local service center to have it brought back to...- Lee Harvey

Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners
Wow, this thread has came alive in the past few days. I have two Pioneer's the SX-780 and the SX-1080. I have gone through with DeOxit on both of them. Both of them sound wonderful at this time. But as Skylab said earlier depending what you have invested in each piece determines what kind of...- Lee Harvey

All those switches, buttons and knobs on the1980 would keep me busy for hours seeing what each did. :D. All three Pioneers look great. I have the itch to try to find a spare 1250 or 1280. But I sold my Lyr this week and I think I will use those extra funds to get a Bifrost.- Lee Harvey
