Anyone heard the R-28? Does it compare to the Master 11 at all? Now that PCM1704UK DAC's arent sold anymore. Does this increase the value of Master 11 or are the newer DA-8 DACs good enough?

Are the old versions worth getting? By the looks of back panel this version I was offered looks older than 1.7. Possibly the oldest model.

HE-6 is heavy like the LCD-3 but there isn't that hot spot LCD-series creates so it's not uncomfortable at all for me.

Laid back? I have assumed that laid back usually means very recessed treble. In my view headphones like the LCD-2 are laid back because lack of treble.

  I owned LCD-3C and HE-6 at the same time. Driven with my Master 11. I ended up selling the LCD-3C as in my experience the HE-6 was just superior. Good stereo amplifier may sound better than the M11/NOS11 but HE-6 out of M11 already outperforms LCD-3C and LCD-2F. I haven't heard the newer...

I can use the single end output with the Shure attenuator just fine.

What's your measuring setup? For results I'd suggest using smaller scale. 105dB - 40 dB is used in speaker measurements. 120 - 20 is just silly. This frequency response looks really straight but really the red line is down massive 15 dB at 17k.

Has anyone asked if the old Master 11 is upgrade able to the Singularity? With or without sending the unit back. I was wondering if the only difference is in the DAC board and it could be swapped by yourself just by soldering few wires.
