STAX SR-009S new flagship electrostatic earspeakers released (with impressions)
Well I own 009 and 007 MKI for quite long time now and I've never heard of anything like it. I was asking, because I assumed that if you are stating something like that you are able to support this on technical level. Nevermind. (I'm not sure if Google really is anyone's friend :) )- k4syx

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6 Discussion Thread
All my other gear is always balanced :) The reason for the switch was that my wife uses only se stuff so if she'd need them she would be able to use them with stock cable. I don't like to cut and modify stock cables as I prefer to do my own stuff from scratch. Anyway, nice work :)- k4syx

How do they sound in balanced? Been thinking about modifying them a couple of years ago, but since I got D7200 my H6 sees almost no use. I was planning to put micro switch inside to be able to go back to SE- k4syx

Basing on my experience with 7200, you should give them 100-150 (preferably) hours of burn in. Just leave them playing 24/7 for a week and you'll see (hear :))- k4syx

That's not placebo. Swapping cables is all about small refinements. I have this cable and my impressions are exactly as your description. Though I do prefer PCOCC braided cable even better (I was linking it earlier in the thread).- k4syx

I may try that in the future. Tonight I've done some fun session with opamp rolling. But that's something for another post. Cutting long story short, I LOVE D7200 with 009 pads. No going back to stock for me now...- k4syx

Well, cutting long story short :) 1: BNIB, home set 2: BNIB, office set 3: BNIB, replacement for 2, because one of the drivers became silent under ~200Hz, repair caused more damage as both of them were lacking bass and detail afterwards 4: BNIB, replacement for 3, when one of the drivers started...- k4syx

My 1$ is on burn-in. Give them at least 24h. If you own (owned) D7200 you may (or may not :)) remember that thay also were a tad bit brighter straight from the box. This changes in first 24 hours(~) and continues within next 200h (to the smaller degree). I have this "fresh" as I am burning in my...- k4syx

I had an opportunity to buy a pair of them slightly used for a bit less than 50$. So decided to try them - reasoning that if I wont like them with D7200, I can always leave them as spares for my SR-009. They are really good, but 150$ for pads only, compared to D7200 price doesnt make much...- k4syx

OK so I have some news on the pads. Zolkis is right, 009 pads make a big and positive difference. D7200 gets a lot of detail, going back to stock pads is like placing veil on the drivers. Treble extension is better, bass goes deeper but at the same time there is a bit less of it making whole...- k4syx

Well I may try do to some quick comparision, but I am worried that this may be skewed by driver changes, which were (AFAIR) during first ~50 hours (this will be my 4th D7200). Stay tuned after the weekend ;)- k4syx

And I just got mine back, though they are hardly "mine", as they have been replaced with brand new pair in sealed box. So I guess I'll have a nice 200+ h burn-in ahead before I'll make any reasonable pad comparisions :) (~two weeks......?)- k4syx

Will do that. Right after I'll get my 7200 back :) I own 009 but I was reluctant to take pads off. I had an opportunity to buy another used 009 pads fairly cheap - I paid more for Dekoni's.- k4syx
