Considering that article was written in 2010, it's probably reasonable to assume it doesn't apply anymore. But you should transfer a single record with all three sample rates and listen to them and pick the best sounding one. Nothing wrong with playing around to see what sounds the best.

The standalone motor is interesting. Wonder if that's part of the design or part of the r&d. Doesn't matter really, looks great to me.

I have always been interested in the HIFIMAN headphones. I currently only have the HE-350 and I love the sound signature of it. It would be pretty amazing to go from the entry level to the TOTL headphone.

Just finished putting together a NuHybrid and it sounds amazing but I do have an issue. It sounds as if the gain is incredibly high, had to switch from my ethers to my DT 770 250 Ohms just to get a listenable level. The only part different from the BOM is the TKD pot. I looked over the solder...

I am looking at upgrading from the Bifrost Multibit to the Gungnir Multibit. The biggest question I have is the Gungnir as loud as the Bifrost when switching between sampling rates? Any thoughts on whether or not this is a worthy upgrade or would it be a small upgrade?   Thanks
