Recording live music with a DAP
Thanks for all the helpful replies guys I think I may have found my DAP though - and I'm very surprised about the 'winner'! The Insignia Pilot meets all my criteria: 1. Good SQ 2. Records up to 48Khz PCM via mic input 3. 8GB onboard flash 4. SD card slot All this for under $80...- Jackboot

Recording live music with a DAP
I've used MD for some time to record live music. I'd like to exit the MD world. Can anyone suggest what options are available for a DAP that also has a mic input? I don't want to get a dedicated recording device. The Cowon D2 looks pretty good but not exactly what I'm looking for since it...- Jackboot

Dell Pocket DJ
I have a 20GB Dell DJ that I bought in January. I just replaced it with an Archos XS200. They have the same capacity (20GB) but the Archos is a full 1/3 smaller. I imagine it is about the same size as a pocket DJ. It can be had for the same price as the pocket DJ also (around $200). I...- Jackboot

atrac->wav
I have a non-HiMD recorder. I bought an older Sony deck that has optical output. AFAIK, there aren't any new MD decks that have an optical output (something to do with copyrights). So I transfer my live recordings from my Sony deck->optical out->optical input sound card->WAV->CD. HiMD is...- Jackboot
