    New Google phone looks horrid

Since someone said that the phone looks ordinary and that they expected more from google, please repeat after me: Google did not make the phone, Google did not make the phone, Google did not make the phone, Google did not make the phone, Google did not make the phone, Google did not make the...

Any real competitors to the iPod anymore?

If you read the quote, they doubled their total sales by expanding into the non-business market. What other market, aside from the consumer market, would that be then? To me it sounds like the consumer market, and thus hardly like they're suffering in it. MS did indeed provide more (16gb for...

    New Google phone looks horrid

Let the more desperate people run forth and be test subjects? Sounds fair enough to me, although I want a smartphone I'm in no rush.

Any real competitors to the iPod anymore?

"RIM sold 5.6 million smartphones in April through June, up from 2.5 million a year ago, as it found new clients beyond its main business market." Doubling their sales by expanding into the commercial smartphone market isn't my idea of "taking a hit" or "struggling".. Is there any evidence...

    New Google phone looks horrid

Let's not confuse android with HTC dream, fellows. From an audio point of view, I'm not keen on a prop HP out. I do like the idea of some tactile response (HTC dream) and I like the idea of a more open OS (android).

Looking for first good SQ rig ~£200 - Sourced in the UK

I know that :P With noticeable difference, I meant "noticeable when listening to music or watching videos on a D2 or similar".

If Q5 has 60-80, I assume it's not trying to compete for massive size, but for players in that range. Cowon holds quite a small market share overall I believe. The two closest to Apple is Sandisk and MS I believe. I don't know about Sandisk, but I know there are a fair few companies making Zune...

Looking for first good SQ rig ~£200 - Sourced in the UK

I have a pair of ATH-A700 and like them a lot. I also have a pair of koss portapro, but not with me at the moment. If you can hold off buying until early next month I should be able to compare them side by side (although I'm no expert at audio so might not use all the appropriate terminology)...

I don't think HTC Dream intends to knock Apple out in one punch. Whereas Apple sold a bit over 1m phones in the first quarter for sale, HTC Dream is aimed at selling 400k. Even so, it would be a sizable chunk and that is just from one phone manufacturer. Google android (unfortunately in a way...

    Questions about the Zune Pass

Just a question: Since the music is disabled if your subscription runs out, does that mean that one needs to be connected to internet to listen to the music (so it can check whether you are subscribed or not) or is it enough to just connect every time it bills you?

Apple a Thief? Who would'a guessed

Personally I don't care who makes the DAP, I'll buy the one that is best for me. I think (and this piece of news just reinforce such a belief) that the more people who are trying to make good DAPs, the better value for money I'll get. Edit: aluren, just because they're unlikely to lose their...

Any real competitors to the iPod anymore?

Scompton, I do have some albums listed under various artists. If more than one person has participated in an album, that's where it goes. I also have one album for each major provider of audiolectures (with further subdirectories for area), rather than them sorted under name of lecturers (which...

I never really had any problem with the quantity of music, even when it is many times more than I can fit on my DAP. They're all named fairly straight forward, music -> artist -> album -> files with the song title as name, making finding anything fairly easy.
