Yes, this is very simple and effective way to tame the treble of HD800, with more bass. I use the foam disc from DT880 with the hole in the center, like donut. I don't understand why this mod is not very poplular among headfiers.

Anyone has ever tried to replace the felt inside the grill? By curiosity, I replaced the felt with thinner and smaller one. I feel this makes the openness extended. I feel the weakness of LCD2 is the openness, and this mod resolved this somewhat. It is very excited experience to me.
