    The "non-Grado" Driver Grado Thread

As per @Mightygrey - no effect whatsoever. Microphone cable uses two twisted pairs to reject electromagnetic interference. This would be a problem for microphone cables because they use long runs and presumably in close proximity to electrical cables. It's not such a biggie on short cable runs...

    The "non-Grado" Driver Grado Thread

Hi all, A bit of a loaded question, but: have any of you had any success experimenting with 50mm drivers?

    The Headphone Driver Pics Thread

Hi all, Has anyone got any photos of Grado drivers from their higher-end headphones? - I'm particularly interested in the 50mm types used in the PS/GS. Ta!

    post your grado mods....

Aaaah, always the T50rp ... maybe if there were more options for Fostex TH / Denon AH-D lovers that didn't want another set of Lawtons and didn't fancy taking their chances with Chan from E-MU ... Maybe if someone were to produce open-backs for these headphones ...

    Grado modders go Magnum

I'd be interested in knowing more about your V4 drivers ... Just attempted to PM you, let me know if these are still available!

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

The 'open' shells I made are mahogany cups from a butchered pair of Massdrop X-00 (I still feel a bit remorseful about about having done this, despite them turning out looking nice). My impression of running the X-00 drivers with open shells is the same as what I thought about the aftermarket...

That looks like a horrible job! - you're right though, I'm resigned to having to pull from the front, I suspect I might need to use more force than I'd like to though. The splitter I was going to use was made of wood. That said, I'm an obsessive cable-builder and Y splits give me a headache ...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

Hello Sir, quite right, I had fitted aftermarket Ypsilon drivers into a D5k shell with open wood cups. I didn't persist with this for very long, and I'm currently running them with closed wooden shells. I don't have any means of measuring their performance, and it'd be very difficult doing A>B...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

Got my G1's running. Happy to confirm they are [another] excellent-sounding Elleven driver. I've run them in for around 24hrs and they sound very convincing in G cushions. Had a bit of a disaster though! - I was in too much of a hurry to give them a listen and fitted them before I finished the...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

Some time ago I picked up a Denon AH-D5000 for spares - it had been modified with an awful lot of Dynamat, and one of the drivers had been killed by a soldering iron. I didn't think there was a chance I could use the capsules but resisted the temptation to bin them. Then I noticed the...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

I don't know about the pads on the R1, but I can talk with great authority on how it feels to break a regular Ypsilon ...

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

No need Sir, Chris @ Elleven is already taking care of things. Very exciting stuff coming from Elleven Acoustica - there's going to be three drivers available: Ypsilon, Ypsilon S2 and the Epsilon R1.   I sense a 6th headphone build incoming :(

I mailed Chris and he wasn't just good, he was great. Sounds like it's going to be worth checking into the Elleven website in the next few days or so ... it's a bad time to be trying to limit the amount of headphones you've got. Either way, I won't have a broken Ypsilon for very long.

Grado Modders Go Ypsilon (Elleven Acoustica drivers and builds thread)

I am no longer a Ypsilon listener. A driver bit the dust when I was fitting a new cable :(   Sooo I noticed the board move slightly when I was finishing up the second driver. Thinking that it looked like a Very Bad Thing I checked continuity and! - there is none.    Maybe I'm not the expert...
