The Headphone Driver Pics Thread

Here is the PDF down below this comment to all of the manufacturer or producer and seller's planar drivers. The two photos below also highlight the headphone drivers leaving out the IEM and earphone ones.

Persoanlly I'd get the Part 6 or Part 7 because I they are the lightest and honestly I cannot enjoy wearing heavy planars such as the Audeze.

Any plans on what you'll be dropping them into?
Already printed out the cups BUT tbh I kind of rushed them and now I realized that I probably should have add tuning vents into the cup. I am very very new to designing btw. Right now I am just getting advice from somebody on designing.

But I did try out the drivers in the cup, which vibrated so much even at medium volume, and I actually liked the sound even though I shouldnt since no tuning, earpads and vibration damping. The drivers are really really loud at max volume too.

Could not find this with search function:
Audio-Technica ATH-ADX5000
58mm, tungsten coated, permendur magnet. On one driver it says "Japan made" other has serial number on it. Pads and driver are not angled which is bit surprising. Cool feature is that the driver frame IS the baffle. It's just one piece.

Quite nice looking drivers is i do say so myself, I made my own pair of headphones with the drivers and the help of a 3d printer and an Audeze headband.

Haha, thats awesome! Where did you get those drivers? Last time I contacted audio-technica about buying drivers they refused to sell me any. Also, is it the lighting but your magnets look more matte than shiny metal?

Some how I was able to get them from audio-technica (parts@atus.com), I asked to buy the AD2000 driver ($45 each) and from a different email I asked about the ADX5000 driver ($114 each), the shiny backing is just an adhesive metal plate thats engraved (serial number and the "made in japan")

Thanks! For that price it's heck of a bargain really. Considering the headphones is just open back and baffle is allready with the driver. I'm sure your headphones sound quite a bit like the original if you have good pads. I wonder if they ship outside USA though.

Whats also nice is the headphone jack is already part of it. You would likly have to contact the non-us parts email.

Hi all,

Has anyone got any photos of Grado drivers from their higher-end headphones? - I'm particularly interested in the 50mm types used in the PS/GS. Ta!
I haven’t, but what I do know is that grasp uses the same driver for all 40mm headphones from the sr60 to premium things only with different vent holes. Some have more vent holes and some don’t.

Aye - the differences in specification between model numbers in the SR series is a little eyebrow-raising - the SR60 and SR80 are identical other than the pads! After that you get into slightly different cables. I wouldn't expect the SR driver to be anything special at all ...
... but I'm very eager to see what's in the PS/GS1000 and above.
